I do not know George, things are already beginning unravel. Someone has cut the fence at his parents home here in Columbus and stolen Zeke's dog!
Nothing is worse than hearing resounding renditions of Good Ole Rocky Top coming out of the opposing fans endzone when they are whipping up on you. Thankfully Will Grier had the answer to that!
Georgia vs. Bama shapes up to be one of those classically physical SEC games in which the running game and tough defense should rule the day. I don't really know which way to go on this one. I think Ga. has the better Qb while Bama has the better D. Better Qb wins at the end in a very close one Ga 27-24 over the Tide. Can't wait to watch this one.
That Georgia QB is a reject from UVA, well not really, but he lost the battle for the starting job and decided to move on with his degree. So far he's done so well you have to wonder how he lost that job at UVA. Might help to have better talent around him I guess! It however is a mystery to me how Alabama has not settled on a QB, they have recruited a number of highly ranked guys including flipping Blake Barnett from Notre Dame last year. But of course it doesn't count if you were good in HS, you have to make the transition to the next level. I would agree that this is a Chubb vs Henry game on offense, with the wild card being that UGA Qb. Should be a great game. Coaching edge to Nick over Mark Richt. Home field edge to UGA of course.
Article on Georgia football, and their claim that they hold their program to a higher standard than their SEC Counterparts. Just a little something to get their SEC rivals fired up a little bit I guess. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/sec/2015/09/30/georgia-bulldogs-football-standards-missing-national-championships/73099452/
Michigan/Maryland game moved to noon kickoff due to weather. Could be a wet weekend in the Mid Atlantic.
I was surprised to see the Bearcats beat up on Miami last night, especially with Gunner Kiel on the bench. Cincinnati made some spectacular plays and the Canes consistently hurt themselves with penalties.
yeah I expected Miami to handle UC, esp with Gunner Kiel out for the game. I expect the Al Golden must go group at Miami will be out in force this week.
Hey Ralph....Notre Dame football is playing Miami tonight at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables!! Go Irish. Of course it's ND Women's futbol team, but hey it's still ND/Miami!!
Well I have been fairly loyal to Golden as our coach but I have to say it's time he move on. He has refused to make any changes with his Temple buddies he brought with him for offensive and defensive coordinators and the reality he is 0-13 against ranked teams and we are about as scary as Providence these days. There is zero indication we are remotely close to a top ten team in his five year tenure inspite of our proximity to the promise land in high school recruiting. One other issue is we currently are not keeping up with the "haves" in spending to what it takes to be a premier football team, teams such as Oregon, Bama and others have improved their facilities as we drudge through our dump. We also drive 45 miles to another county to play ball in a stadium built for 80k with a school population of 11k. Terry I hope we are more competitive tonight than last night
Terry do you think we can maybe schedule Texas to play Miami so at least one team will look good this season, I don't know which one will look good, probably depends on the moon phase..
Yup, Alabama put together a complete game today. Defense was stifling, offense was efficient and special teams were good. Coker had a very good game. If he does that consistently, Alabama is dangerous. I'm a happy camper.
