Pretty good game last night on ESPN with Va Tech beating Georgia Tech in a close game. One more win for the Hokies and they will be bowl eligible. I would like to See Coach Beamer keep that 22 straight bowl seasons intact in his final season.
I don't understand what has happened to Ga.Tech. They were really good last year and had a lot of players coming back. But things sure have not turned out well for them this year. I didn't expect them to win the NC or be a top 10 team, but I expected they'd win at least 9 games after winning 11 last year. Neither team looked all that great to me, Ga.Tech had some crucial fumbles and then a terrible personal foul on an OL on their last drive killed any chance of winning. I wonder who will be the next Va.Tech coach. I've seen some talk that Rich Rodriquez might be that guy. Some say Chad Morris, but like Tom Herman he's in his first year at SMU and even though they've played well they can't get over the hump and get the wins.
I would be surprised if Morris leaves SMU after 1 year. He's from Texas and has good roots here. Then again SMU will never be able to win it all...
Another week of chaos, gotta love it. #6 Baylor goes down (to #12 OU) for their 1st loss. #7 Stanford goes down (to UR UO) for their 2nd loss. #9 LSU goes down (to UR Arkansas) for their 2nd loss. #10 UU goes down (to UR UA) for their 2nd loss. #17 MSU goes down (to #2 Bama) for their 3rd loss. #19 UCLA goes down (to UR Wazzu) for their 3rd loss. #21 Memphis goes down (to #24 Houston) for their 2nd loss. #22 Temple goes down (to UR USF) for their 2nd loss. I'm guessing UCLA, Memphis, and Temple drop out. Possibly MSU as well. That leaves room for Wazzu. Stanford loss most likely = OUT of the CFP running LSU loss most likely = OUT of the CFP running UU loss most likely = OUT of the CFP running Baylor loss most likely = OUT of the CFP running Temple and Stanford losses could really hurt ND's SOS, but with everyone else dropping out, it may be a wash. Clemson, OSU, Bama, ND, Iowa, OkSU, Florida, OU, MSU all favorites now.
Between the Big 12 and the PAC 10, I really screwed myself with some major losses. Illinois again proved to be a tough foe in Champaign. Their defensive front four gave our offensive line fits. Elliott had another 100-yard game, but earned it the hard way. Buckeyes now have a 23 game win streak and will have to whip MSU next Saturday to preserve the streak. Conner Cook injured his should but says he will be ready to play next week. ESPN Game Day will be im Columbus for the 3:30 kickoff on ABC.
Agreed. Clemson would appear to have the easiest path with ND, Iowa and Bama right behind. The rest all have at least two very tough games to hurdle.
Don't look now but Bob Davie knocked off Boise State last night and has the Lobos bowl eligible for the first time in eons. Also since I didn't stay up late to watch the Wazzu rally from Coogin' it to Wining it....How did the Pirate handle the stress!! Oh yeah and speaking of Coogin' it the Houston Cougars came back with a Backup QB to beat Memphis and remain undefeated...they do have a date with Navy.
Did you see where Bo Pellini was sanctioned by the Missouri Valley Conference for his sidelines outbursts vs North Dakota State this past Saturday? He got several penalties at the end of the game and maybe cost his team the game. Same ole' Bo...anger management issues. http://footballscoop.com/news/bo-pelinis-temper-cost-his-team-a-game-and-some-things-just-never-change/
