Didn't see the 2nd half but apparently TCU had a lot of trouble with Minnesota. 1st game of the year though and a win is a win.
Kill is doing a great job at Minnesota! The Gophers might be a team to be reckoned with before long. TCU did not have one of their better games, quite a few marches up and down the field, but poor decisions ended up costing scores!
Harbaugh showed a commitment to running the football something that is his trademark. UM also looked tougher and more disciplined. His Qb let him down though, I wonder if we'll see another guy next week? If I were a UM fan I'd be pretty happy with the way things looked last night. TCU struggled with Minnesota, more than I would have expected. But that might be a good thing, get the kids to stop reading how good they are. Also I know it was Alcorn but GA. Tech... Holy cow if Johnson has a QB look out
The last 3 or 4 years Michigan's offense almost mirrors the Florida Muschamp offense. Try and power it down their throat but not really get it done. ( a few obvious exceptions like the Georgia anomaly last year notwithstanding). Also... that dink and dunk passing game is one I won't miss. Seems it's moved up I-75 to Ann Arbor. Harball may yet work....but you need some talented players on the line and at Qb plus some bruising backs to get that done.
If he wanted a guy that had a pretty decent arm that turns to jello at crunch time he could have gone after Driskel. For any team like Georgia, FSU and others that are taking in and starting transfers the caution is that if they were solid in their position at their former schools they probably wouldn't have transferred.
Mighty Baylor is having trouble with SMU. They will probably pull away later but its a one score game at the half and Baylor's D looks crappy.
ask joel, he knows about fordham and the 7 blocks of granite of coach sleepy jim crowley and his asst frank leahy.  boise state welcomed home the old coach and his new puppies. baylor looked like they woke up and were baylor in the 2nd half. the true freshman phenom stidham looked like he might be tough to keep on the bench. big day today though lot of big games.
Yeah, it is the first game and all but I was not impressed with either Baylor or TCU. It's a long season and this weekend will let us know how the rest of the top teams look as well. Let's play!!!
Kansas State band. The figure on the left is a Kansas Jayhawk. The figure on the right is supposed to be the Starship Enterprise. That does not look like a spaceship to me.
!. <t>Be afraid boys... the Aggies have a defense and a Coordinator who's not afraid to use it. (just wish we could keep our starting LB's healthy!)<br/> <br/> Our young QB's were often confused by the blitz happy Devil defense, but we got enough to win.<br/> Freshman Christian Kirk is ELECTRIC.<br/> <br/> First play for DT Daylon Mack... blows through and drops the RB for a 3 yard loss.<br/> <br/> Damn it's gonna be a fun season...</t>
  - Texas A&M looked great against ASU. One word of caution; this happens to ASSU all the time. All this preseason nonsense about ASU and Stanford and Washington, blah, blah, blah... There are three very good teams in the 12Pac: USC, UCLA and Oregon. The team that won the 12Pac South last year was Arizona and they're returning everybody. TAM looks good, but we need to see more before I believe in ASU... - Temple crushed Penn State. I mean they physically manhandled them. What idiot said that PSU QB would be drafted in the first ten players? There are better QBs than that guy all over the west. If you want to see a real phenom, check out new UCLA QB Josh Rosen. I've watched him in HS at St. John Bosco the last four years and he looked terrific against Virginia yesterday. He's the real deal and Virginia wasn't too bad. Notre Dame should have a much harder game against them next week than Texas was this week... -Chris Farley/Harbaugh LOL...
Saw some interesting things yesterday. Alabama/Wisconsin - Starting off with a ranked opponent only works if you win. Alabama's defense looked pretty good, especially the run defense. Coker looked okay, but he is a pure drop back/pocket passer and seems to have problems when pressured. Alabama had a lot of penalties and Henry had a great night but most of his yardage was on 2 runs. Good first game. Auburn had a lot problems with Louisville and could have been in real trouble if Petrino had not screwed up the time management at the end of the game. Ole Miss really scored a lot of points. I'm sure they are happy. Looks like Notre Dame found a qb and Texas may be looking for coach. UGA and Chubb looked very good. Tennessee got off to a slow start and the engineering student still needs some work. LSU got a lightning bye Didn't get to see any of the Arkansas game so I'm not sure and they won about as expected. How far has Penn St. fallen? Gunner, sorry about the Huskers. Whats up with them? UCLA freshman qb looks like multiple year Heisman candidate. Great first weekend of football and we still have OSU vs VaTech to go.
