Like George said, once again these are serious allegations and let's wait for the "rest of the story". Meyer's wife, who is apparently also an employee of Ohio State, is also possibly in trouble over this isn't she? She was told first hand by the victim and didn't follow policy of reporting. Urban would have been the accusation second hand if she told him. :?
Terry, it ranges from outrage to wonder. Hurts' dad opened this can of worms, but he didn't mention that. He made it seem as if he was left in the wind. I find it hard to believe that Saban has not talked to him and Tagovolua, but who knows. It does put a chink in the persona of the stoic, silent team leader. I guess we will see. Hurts (unlike his dad) indicated he was not transferring this year. He is one semester from graduation. :?
Kp, I find it amusing that Saben has to be involved in such nonsense. We do not have that kind of problem here in Columbus. We are just endeavouring to see who will coach the Buckeyes this season!
Hurts being able to graduate this Dec, puts him in a pretty good position and I can see why he's not thinking of transferring. If he did now, he'd absolutely not play in 2018, by staying he might play either due to competition on the field or default ..ie injury to Tua. In Dec he can move on and play immediately at his next stop as a Graduate transfer. He would be able to participate in the Spring Drills of the new school. So it seems like a no brainer to stay and compete. Don I do wonder the impact on the players at Ohio State. When they fired JT, I think Fickel was the interim and I'm sure he gave it his all but the net was a 6-7 season. I don't really remember if that was a team that was talented or not, JT always recruited very well so it's hard to imagine the less than stellar record was due to lack of talent, as Urban took the 2012 team to a undefeated season. I know this years Buckeyes are very talented again, and expected to be in the playoffs, but can a interim coach get them there? What do fans think of the chances with Ryan Day?
Terry, I think Ryan Day can be very effective with the talent on hand, especially at QB and two excellent rushing backs and an excellent defensive unit that is really deep. I am almost willing to be Urban is not going to lose his job, maybe two or three game suspension.
Whoops....UNC lost 13 players for a few games due to them selling some of their gear, a clear violation.
I'm very curious to see how many fans turn out for the Aggies first game. Since they moved it to Thursday night... I suspect we'll have a poor turnout. I have managed to tweak my schedule so I can go but I doubt that was feasible for a lot of other season ticket holders.
As a fan who doesn't have to go to the games I have enjoyed a lot of the Thursday night games. Although I prefer that the Irish and Longhorns not participate.
Oh never mind, I thought A&M opened with Clemson... it's Northwest State or something like that.. Yeah that's a Thursday game.
Perhaps the question for Maryland is not who of the coaching staff will be fired or the amount of money it will pay out as a result of civil lawsuits, but whether members of the coaching staff will be criminally prosecuted. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/24342005/maryland-terrapins-football-culture-toxic-coach-dj-durkin
Man, I can't see the guy keeping the team together after all that going on. Didn't Maryland beat Texas last year when everyone was healthy? I may have to adjust my picks.
https://www.al.com/alabamafootball/...ma_nick_saban_ruled_n.html#incart_river_index I am beginning to realize Saban's influence on the college football world. In a sense it is scary at how big of a business enterprise this is all becoming. On the other hand, he is a really impressive organizational leader.
A lot of optimism around A&M due to Jimbo being there. Although I do think this young lady takes that optimism a little too far! Does A&M play UF this year? https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45093388
UF and the Aggies are on the rotating East-West schedule so it will be a while before they meet again. UF plays LSU annually out of the west and rotates everyone else. They played last season in one of the more frustrating UF losses in recent years where the Gators displayed a defense very capable of winning but an offense that couldn't drive 30 yards to give long distance kicker Piniero any chance of winning a 19-17 game. Everything points to a much better UF offense this year that my gut feeling says will surprise many people.
You're gonna run the ball eleventy billion times. That's my prediction for the Florida offense. If you can pass at all, you will surprise people.
