We gotta be running out of money fellas, any contributions you can make to help a brother out would be greatly appreciated! It's just madness, where does it stop?

Yeah, I guess it’s obvious now that the kids were coming to Alabama for Saban not NIL.

I still believe Saban made the right move to retire at this time. I sincerely believe he never anticipated so many players leaving the program via the portals at this time. That probably bothers him more than he will ever admit. One never knows what life choices can endure. Thoughts Kp?

I agree KP but wouldn't you agree it's becoming more and more clear that in this day and age, you're gonna have to have all the critical elements, great coaching staffs, facilities and material monetization opportunities for these kids. Thanks to the advent of massive TV contracts, there's just too much money splashing around the game to not have a meaningful share be allocated to the players and importantly, the law and the courts are now enforcing that view. As much as I hate to see the circus in Washington involved, I see no viable solution to this madness that doesn't include national legislation of some sort.

Don, I'm not sure. Saban has never been one to look back. It would not surprise me if he is assisting DeBoer in trying to refill the roster though.

BuckeyeT, I submit that Alabama has a coaching staff now that coached in the College Football Playoff finals. Alabama has facilities that are second to none. I'm not exactly sure what "material monetization opportunities" are (I assume you mean NIL) and that is the only variable that I have no insight into. Unquestionably, Saban was the primary draw, but I would think most of these guys would have stayed at Alabama if the money was right. I do agree that something must be done. Right now, college football is like the NFL with no salary cap.

Those guys must do soccer as their regular gig.

Also...Korea is interested enough in NFL to have announcers doing the game in Korean? Color me very surprised.

Don it's being reported that CJ Stroud made a big donation to the Ohio Sate Collective, the first former Buckeye player to do so according to the article I read.

Not about football, but NIL. This is a link to a Miami basketball players page and scroll down a little to see all the links to NIL things he'll do to make a little bit of money! I don't think I've ever seen that. I know at Texas or ND it's not done.

Not sure where to post this, so I'm posting it here. I was browsing someone's mock NFL draft and came across the coolest name I've seen in a long time. At the 22nd pick they project the Eagles to take a CB from Alabama named.......Kool-Aid McKinstry.

He's been an All-American at Alabama for 3 years. Got his nickname because as an infant his grandmother said he had the Kool-Aid smile (from the Kool-Aid TV ads with the dancing pitcher) all of the time. Possibly the top DB in the upcoming draft.

Wow! Shows how clueless I am to not know he's a 3-time AA. I wondered how he got his name. Cool story. Thanks, Kyle.

Had to happen given the state of college football. BC head coach, Jeff Haley has resigned to become the DCOORD of the Green Bay Packers.

He wants to go coach football again in a league that is all about football," a source told ESPN. "College coaching has become fundraising, NIL and recruiting your own team and transfers. There's no time to coach football anymore.

"A lot of things that he went back to college for have disappeared."
