I have to admit that I thought Harbaugh would be giving Meyer fits by now.

If it doesn't happen in the next couple of years maybe I'm dead wrong on the impact of Harbaugh on the rivalry.

I think Harbaugh is bringing the Weasles up to par with Ohio State and the rivalry will be back very soon, if not already there. I don't think that his good recruiting will diminish Meyer's ability to also attract top talent.

This year Michigan is starting a lot of young talent...may cause them some hiccups early but they will be well tested by The Game.

    Back on the ACC....

I think FSU is the favorite this year to win the ACC and make the CFB playoffs.

Thoughts on Bama-FSU? It should be a Bama home crowd in Atlanta... their fans will out travel and out bid FSU fans for tickets any day.

So the best of the ACC takes on the best of the SEC right off the bat.

    Pretty juicy.

I scored tix to the Oklahoma - tOSU game but can't go...so gave them to my son Mike (of John Deere fame in the Skybox contests.)

About FSU vs Alabama, why do you think FSU fans won't show up for the game like Alabama fans? It's got to be about the same as far as distance, maybe even a little closer to Tallahassee right?

I wouldn't write of Clemson, they should be good again but don't have a returning starter at QB and while the guys they have are young they are 4 and 5 star kids who were highly recruited.

Alabama is breaking in a new OCoord who from what I read tried to really emphasize the passing game in the Spring to get Jalen Hurts more confidence and to prevent opposing defenses from daring him to throw.

It certainly has potential to be a really exciting game and certainly the top game of the opening weekend which is mostly so so. Gators vs Michigan is the other really big game.

UF-UM is earlier in the day... at 3:30.. so I really hope we win because I will be glued to the TV later at 8 pm to watch the Tide vs Noles and it will be a bad experience to keep hearing about and seeing replays of yet another loss to Michigan...

These games early in the season are very difficult to gauge. I'm hoping for a low scoring one.

    Kp,

The last shoot-out Bama engaged in didn't turn out so well for the Tide so I see your point.

Hey... on another point you made earlier while I agree Florida doesn't inspire the fan fervor of Tenn and Auburn for the Bama faithful it is a fact that in the SEC Title game the most common opponents by far have been UA vs UF.
    8)

I just hope one day soon it isn't so one-sided.

MCG, I am a big proponent of defense wins games/championships, that is why I am hoping for a low scoring game. If it is a low scoring game, I believe Alabama has the edge. And yes, Alabama vs Florida seem to show up in SECCGs a lot.

Speaking of the Vols tougher than usual SEC schedule... some think it will enable UK to best the Vols in results:

I don't think Meyer leaves Ohio State for another school.

As to Zaire, I am not sure he wins the starting job. However if he does he will have my full support.

If so I hope our young QB hangs around for the future.

    Me too Bill.

We have lost too many in recent years that went on to success elsewhere while we struggle at the position... ( Driskel. Brissett, Grier etc. )

Listening to lots of SEC Media talk these days since the SEC is first out of the gate with Media days. I thought it was interesting to hear the talk on Bret Bilema at Ark, nobody thinks he's on the hot seat. They say he's well liked in Fayetteville and the guys I listen to say they love him as a coach.

I thought it interesting that a lot of them think Kentucky will do very well this year, not win the East but have one of their best seasons in awhile.

Of course Alabama is the odds on favorite to win it all in the SEC.

Looks like ND can write off the game vs. Georgia as a loss, according to SEC analyst Greg McElroy, who I'm sure has done his research. It's our home game, so I know we'll show up.

I like Greg McElroy but 20 points really?

Just trying to stir the pot I think.

Listened to Saban's comments on the early signing period. He said he was really against one in Aug before the Sr. year. He said that since are now players declining to play in bowl games that he could imagine some kid who signs early declining to play his Senior year for fear of injury or to "prepare" himself for college. When asked what he'd do with a player who declined to play in a bowl for Alabama to prepare for the NFL. He said that he would talk to him about it and he feels they should play but that if the kid has carefully considered everything and still feels he shouldn't play then he'll accept that and move on. Not much else you can do I think is there? I guess if they intended to attend school the Spring semester you could pull their scholarship and make them pay their own way, but I'm not really sure that's legal.

Kevin Sumlin said he's not worried about the "pressure" to win says he puts more pressure on himself to win than outsiders. Spoken like a man with a 10 million dollar buyout if they want to fire him after 2017. :)

I prefer the Lou Holtz approach. Feign inferiority. Accentuate how your opponent's strengths may be too much for you to handle. Then on game day go out and kick their butts. I'm afraid Jimbo's bravado is ill-timed given FSU's first opponent.
