B12 is a mess... KU beat Colorado and ASU beat BYU. If Iowa State beats Utah tonight then there are 4 teams with 6-2 conference records.
Looking at the rankings as they presently stand, Mississippi is out with 3 losses. Indiana will drop but it looks like the final at large bid will be between SMU and Indiana, both 1 loss teams.
Lots of football left to to play. Like I said above Alabama must beat Oklahoma and Auburn. Also how will conference championship games play in the process? What if Texas’ 2nd loss is in the SEC Championship game? Does a one loss Indiana (who does not play in the Big 10 championship game) get an at large bid ahead of Texas? Could get real interesting.
I was writing more about next week rankings assuming that the all of the ranked teams that have not completed their games win today. Obviously if Alabama or ND lose this week, their playoff chances are in real jeopardy but my assumption is both will win this week.
Re conference championship games, I wonder if the committee will treat them in the same fashion as they do in basketball. Usually loosing in the conference tournament does not materially impact a team’s seeding in basketball.
I think that if you make it to the Big10 or SEC Champ game you are in, not so much for the B12 and ACC teams.
This is not the Alabama that went to Baton Rouge 2 weeks ago. Play calling on offense is terrible and Oklahoma is running the ball well.
The Oklahoma game is stunning. Really did not think a team with 1 conference win and who has not beaten a FBS team since September would ambush Alabama like this.
He’s obviously had a terrible night but this is a team loss. Our OL has not been able to protect him all night, Oklahoma has 2 rushers with over a 100 yards. I don’t know what happened.
1 int was a pick 6, the other int got down to about the 10. We had a TD late called back on a bad call and the 3rd int was on the OL. Oklahoma ran it down our throat and we spotted them 14 points.
The A&M game is an homage to some of the crazy PAC 12 at night games where a game’s momentum shifted every 30 seconds.
