Top NIL earners...one of them has never played a down in college football.

Interesting. There are interior linemen making $500K. Kids in high school making that much and more. Maybe schools should just drop the sham (and the scholarships) and just admit that the players are professional employees. That may be what the future is.

Completely agree. The perversion of "college" sports grows unabated.

I did. I'm not real big on making my mind up, or having an opinion on things, until I've done a bit more reading, watching etc. I would share my opinion, but since it seems that no one cares, I will spare you.

Hey Scott, WTH? Melissa TX? It's almost to Oklahoma. How'd they come up with the money to do this ? Is this where all the rich people in North Dallas are moving?

Terry... yeah that's the highway 75 corridor.
Allen is south of Melissa which seems to be following the same formula... I guess the rich keep fleeing out further into the burbs as city life encroaches.

I guess this is bound to happen, but it just seems nuts for the non-football sports.

Class of 23, 1st year Frosh QB....hasn't started school yet, barely broken in his cleats already appearing in ads for a leading underwear brand. My guess is he's gonna be popular with the ladies. Good for him

Apparently the back story is that the Tommy John CEO lives in SD where the young man was a local legend, state football and baseball champs and national HS player of the year. CEO has been following him since before he could shave. High character guy, tons of potential but barring disaster, only snaps he's gonna get is with scout team

I followed the link in the Tweet and it turns out that he's probably the greatest QB in South Dakota history. 3 sport athlete who didn't want to do early enroll and wanted to finish his High School career. Good for him.

On the other hand Ole Miss freshman QB . Austin Simmons, who graduated HS 2 years early and his family has been tailoring his academics by home schooling him so he could have the time to work on his game. He took a lot of online courses and already has his associates degree. He's also a great baseball player. My question is that in his short 17 years he's been focused on getting to college early and playing athletics and things like going to a regular HS interfered with the ultimate goal of the NFL and Millions. But how does a kid have fun and grow up if he's always in some sort of cocoon designed to maximize his athletic worth. I hope he doesn't turn out like Robo QB Todd Marinovich who was trained to be a QB by his dad at the expense of all other development. He had talent for sure, but he ended up a mess.

So good on this kid and his parents for putting his just being a HS kid and going to prom and graduating with his friends before going off to college.

When I read your note I thought of our local OSU athletic star (Cade Stover) and wondered about local NIL deals around little old Mansfield. For sh$ts and giggles I looked it up...he went back to the family farm and got a contract with Ag-Pro...dealership for John Deere. Probably not as lucrative as Tommy John, though.

Ohio State football Cade Stover signs NIL deal with Ag-Pro Companies

I don't know about that Stu, base price for a new S860 goes for about $380,000 per Google! I'd say that was a helluva contribution to the family farm. I'm a BIG Cade fan, he's on my short list of favorites on this team. Special kid...gotta think that his cousin is from the same stock. Still believe if either he, or Marv were able to finish the UGA game we have a different outcome

I never saw him play football here at Lexington HS, but saw him play great basketball.

Here we are late August and neither Ohio State or Alabama has named a starting QB. :(

Not a believer in SC yet, great QB but they're gonna have to convince me they can play defense worthy of that level
