In a strange twist to the Michigan off season, given the Harbaugh flirtation with the NFL. If this guy in fact did illegally access some computers I wonder what it was that he was doing? Watching Porn? The University of Michigan announced it has fired co-offensive coordinator Matt Weiss, who is under investigation by university police for "a report of computer access crimes" at the school's football facility. In a statement, athletic director Warde Manuel said the termination came "after a review of University policies." The statement added the school would not comment any further.
I wonder why the heck why he was accessing email accounts? We'll probably never find out, it just seems so odd.
checking up on cute co-worker? Checking if players are in contact with other universities? Deleting emails of others that contain info the NCAA might find interesting?
I see that Bill O'Brien is leaving Alabama and returning to the N.E. Patriots. That means that Saban will be replacing both of his Coordinators. He's always replacing one or the other it seems as they get jobs as HC or in this case move to the NFL. Who are the candidates to replace them kp?
Candidates for OC include Charlie Weis Jr. who was an analyst at Alabama a few years ago. Milwee the QB coach at Texas might work. He was also at Alabama. Dan Mullen is also a candidate. The field seems to be wide open. For DC, Todd Grantham is one of.our analysts, he may be a prime candidate. Jeremy Pruitt may be another one, if the conference allows it.
In the category of the Grass isn't always greener! Miami has fired Josh Gattis as offensive coordinator after one season, coach Mario Cristobal announced Friday. When Gattis was hired a year ago from Michigan, the move was widely applauded. Gattis had just won the Broyles Award as the top assistant coach in the country after helping the Wolverines make the College Football Playoff with a balanced offensive approach.
James Laurinaitis has joined the Ohio State Coaching staff and will work with the linebackers this coming season.
He was well liked at ND from what I hear, but going home is always something coaches love to do. I imagine it won't be long before somebody hires him as a full time coach not just a GA
Not surprising that Saban feels this way. I'm with him. "Someone with one of the best corners in the nation (in high school) came to me and asked if we’d pay them $800,000 for the player to sign here. I told him he can find another place to play," Saban said, according to Baker High School coach Steve Norman. "I’m not paying a kid a bunch of NIL money before he earns it." Norman added that Saban feels the NCAA "needs more ways and means to control it because it’s getting out of hand." Saban later added that he lost 10 players, including a starter, to the portal already. "One of them wanted $500,000 and for us to get his girlfriend into law school at Alabama and pay for it. I showed him the door," Saban reportedly said. Alabama's Nick Saban rejected 2 players who were searching for $1.3 million combined in NIL money: report
Bennett still celebrating! Stetson Bennett, Georgia quarterback, arrested for public intoxication in Dallas, per report
That's too bad, I doubt it has mch effect on his future though. Tarnishes his reputation a little bit though. i wonder what the heck he was doing in Dallas though.
So you can walk into a Walgreens and take whatever you want and NOT go to jail, but if you stumble around drunk knocking on the wrong doors you do? Our country truly is doomed...
