I am still so surprised at how the Hurricanes got such a great class when they had a horrible season. Florida had a poor season as well and are just outside the top 10. FSU however had a very good season and finished outside the top 15
I think team's recruiting success will be measured in $$ and not in the intangibles like direction of the program, TV exposure or educational opportunities. Miami must have put together a buying group of wealthy donors to acquire that kind of talent. It's the only explanation.
I'm mildly surprised that Card is headed to West Lafayette. I thought for sure with Max Duggan gone from TCU that he'd be headed there, must be a case of rich Purdue Alums buying him!!

Some people are accusing Notre Dame of tampering in the Sam Hartman pending transfer. Everybody gets dirty in this scenario.

I don't know. But we do we really know at this point? I guess because he has one year of elegibilty left? This will be his 6th year of college football; he's 24 years old.
There certainly is a lot ot talk about tampering. So where there is smoke there is fire. You can't tell me that the kid from Pittsburg who was the Biletnikoff award winner last year just up and decided he needed to go to USC. It's pretty clear that he was contacted by USC interests, not by Riley though, and told that if he came what would be the NIL package. It was way more than Pitt so he left. Isolated case, not likely. Is this what happened with Sam Hartman? I don't know, the Irish haven't been using NIL in recruiting and it cost them a few players. They don't have the collective (in ND's case the one lead by Brady Quinn) involved in recruiting like is common all over the country. Did Sam Hartman look over the landscape and say I think ND is looking for a QB and reach out in some way to confirm they would be interested in if he entered the Portal? i don't know. But more than a few coaches have complained about the "recruiting" of their players to enter the portal. I don't expect the NCAA to do anything aobut it.
