Typical B1G Ten game on the road yesterday in Happy Valley, Nits were ready for us and kept the scoring down in the first three quarters. We should have gone for the field goal as the first half ended. Last ten minutes or so was a wild one and Penn State paid the price in the end. Four turnovers in the game killed the Nits. Harrison Jr was suburb as well as our defense. On to Northwestern for another noon game next Saturday on the road.

Mich State has suspended 4 players due to their involvement in the incident Saturday. What I still don't understand is how that lone Michigan player got isolated and beaten/kicked by that MSU mob? Also seems like more than 4 need to be suspended. I bet more than 4 kicked at that guy when he was down.

Four Michigan State football players have been suspended in the wake of Saturday’s postgame altercation with the University of Michigan, the school announced in a Sunday statement from head coach Mel Tucker.

“After reviewing the disturbing electronic evidence collected to date of the altercations between Michigan State and University of Michigan student-athletes on October 29, 2022, we are suspending Tank Brown, Khary Crump, Angelo Grose, and Zion Young effective immediately,” the statement read.

Win or move on seems to be a common message. Trouble is everyone can not be a winner in todays environment!

    about $42million?

Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh said Monday that “an apology will not get the job done” and that he expects criminal charges to be filed following Saturday’s postgame altercations with Michigan State.

How about you build a little fence in that tunnel to separate the teams?
Seems like something should have been done about this a LONG time ago...

Michigan Stadium was built in 1927, I imagine that the tunnel in question hasn't changed since then. So it begs the question, outside of the scuffle between Penn State and UM players and mugging of a UM player by Michigan State is there a history of problems in that tunnel?

I know at Notre Dame Stadium there had been issues, one that is quite famous in ND lore ..a fight in the tunnel before the 1988 Miami/ND game. I think there have been other times where the Irish and the visitors had scuffles, in fact eventually they changed the protocol and they didn't allow both teams to be in the tunnel at the same time. Recently ND built a seperate entrance for the Visitors.

There have been some incidents in the past including last week game versus PSU but nothing of this magnitude. James Franklin suggested a protocol where teams enter and exit the tunnel separately and his common sense solution makes complete sense. M-MSU has become a pretty toxic rivalry and M running a pass play off a reverse in the closing minute of the game to rub Sparty’s nose in it certainly added to the toxicity. I totally understand the concept of playing to the final whistle but think trying to humiliate a beaten team betrays the principle of respecting your rival and can lead to the violent chaos that erupted post game.

4 more MSU players have been suspended

Michigan State director of athletics Alan Haller and football coach Mel Tucker on Tuesday announced four new suspensions in the aftermath of the altercation that occurred in the tunnel of Michigan Stadium Saturday night.

Defensive ends Jacoby Windmon and Brandon Wright and cornerbacks Justin White and Malcolm Jones are now suspended.

Previously, Michigan State had suspended linebacker Tank Brown, safety Angelo Grose, defensive end Zion Young and cornerback Khary Crump for their involvement.

"We are transparently working with law enforcement and the Big Ten Conference to evaluate additional facts and evidence surrounding the events in Ann Arbor," the statement from Haller and Tucker said. "We will continue to take appropriate action in this matter as we learn more. The student-athlete suspensions will remain in place until the investigations are completed."

I'm not surprised that the committee ranked Tenn #1. But truthfully it came at a bad time, a road trip into Athens to play a Georgia team that is ranked #1 in the AP poll. I imagine that they will not take it lightly and we'll see a max effort from Georgia to show the committee that they made a mistake.

Also was a little surprised that Brian Kelly's LSU squad is ranked #10. Makes that game in Baton Rouge pretty interesting. Kelly wishing Saban a Happy Birthday in his game week press conference got a lot of play, doubt if Nick was impressed.

Ohio State is a quiet #2, nobody really talking about the Buckeyes this week.

Color me really surprised that Texas is #24. We looked terrible losing to Oklahoma State the last time we played, and those guys got beat the next week 48-0. But not sure who has been left out that is more deserving than the Longhorns. Edit: I see the Longhorns edged out Liberty for that top 25 slot.

Big moves in store after this weekend, and Clemson and TCU are looking to be in the cat bird seat. #1 plays #3, #6 plays #10. #2 plays #5 in a few weeks.
