ESPN has declared these games the big games for this weekend. Alabama/Tenn Mich/Penn State Clemson/FSU Miss State/Kentucky NC State/Syracuse USC/Utah In reading through the article I learned that Miss State is the best red zone team in college football with 19 TD's in 21 red zone trips. It's surprising to me because you always think those teams who run the air raid don't have the good running game that you need to be a good red zone team where the field shortens and gives the defense some help in stopping the passing game.
Stanford QB Tanner McKee is getting a lot of praise. Every article says he throws a pretty ball is accurate and also can throw it down the field. This is what Prister said. Make no mistake, the Cardinal will come into Notre Dame Stadium with the ability to put points on the board. QB-Tanner McKee, the 6-foot-6, 229-pounder, looks and plays like an NFL quarterback. McKee throws a pretty ball, and when he throws deep, the football keeps going and going and going. He has a very long arm and a whole bunch of receivers, led Michael Wilson, Brycen Tremayne, Elijah Higgins and tight end Benjamin Yurosek.
Peyton Manning will be the Guest picker for the GameDay show this weekend in Knoxville. Gee I wonder who he's going to pick. Tennessee football legend Peyton Manning will serve as the guest picker for “College GameDay” prior to the Vols' showdown with Alabama on Saturday. Manning went 3-1 in his college career against Alabama, becoming the first quarterback in program history to win three straight against the Crimson Tide from 1995-97. Of course as successful as he was against Alabama, it was the opposite vs the Gators. I'm pretty sure the Fla loss his Senior year cost him the Heisman Trophy.
I watched a lot of the Baylor/WVa game last night. It was very entertaining! Quite a finish. Mountaineers get the win.
We were in a suburb of Kansas City Missouri for a week visiting my sister and brother-in-law. Got back home Monday night. My sister is a Gator grad like me although she attended FSU before transferring to Florida. The brother-i law is Jayhawk all the way but also roots for Missouri. The three of us got the best of him in the Gator Game. However their whole family are big fans of the KC Chiefs. We watched their game together. That QB Mahomes is as good as advertised. I don't remember QB's who have as many ways to deliver the ball at any time. Overhead, sidearmed, throwing around people, underhand, lob the ball. And he seems like a really great guy who has captured all Chief fans, me included. After the Dolphins the Chiefs are pretty much my favorite.
On another note, college games today. This is a big game for the Gators who have had trouble with LSU the last several years. We are favored although I am not sure why. But Go Gators. Watching Ole Miss and Auburn right now but the game I am most interested in today besides the Gators is Alabama - Tennessee. I see Tennessee with a good chance today. They have come a long way and well deserving of their current ranking. Sorry Kp but I am pulling for the Vols in this one.
Thanks and I understand what you mean. Hope my Gators can get back to that unique place instead of working very week whether or not we can win. Our defense needs to show significant improvement for us to be a threat again.
I must admit that I was unjustified in my cocky apprasial of the Texas /Iowa State game. I really thought we'd kill those guys. Instead we escape with a narrow win. Auburn has been a surprisingly tough game for Ole Miss. I thought with all that is going on with Harsin that going to Oxford would be a beat down, but they have given them all they could handle.
