Warren, a newbie appointed in 1/2020, did not make the initial decision; the presidents of the universities did and left him sitting alone on the tree limb to deal with the reaction of fans.
ESPNU has been on a rampage against the Big 10, the morning drive guys like Greg McElroy and then the afternoon guy, Mark Packer has also been doing the same. Warren comes in for the most criticism but they spread it out some blaming the Presidents and Ath Directors as well.
Well now the MAC is going to meet about possibly playing this season. From ESPN The Mid-American Conference presidents will meet Saturday to review a possible fall football season as momentum builds around the league to get back on the field, sources told ESPN. The Toledo Blade, which first reported the presidents' meeting, reported the MAC is considering a six- or eight-game fall schedule that would begin Oct. 24 and culminate with a conference championship game at Detroit's Ford Field.
Big Ten returns, and Pac-12 now seems set to do the same [sarcasm]Glad to see politics has nothing to do with shutdowns, schools, and college football.[/sarcasm]
In Michigan, the guv blocked fall HS football. However, the Detroit superintendent of schools blasted that decision in a public statement. In Michigan, Dems lose if Detroit voter turn out is light. So, a few days later after the superintendent’s statement, the guv revises her executive order by rescinding her ban on HS football. I am sure no political calculus was involved in her decision to rescind.
I see that Baylor/Houston game won't happen this weekend due to Baylor failing to meet one of the B12 mins for playing. It has to be the OL, the 4 mins are 53 players, 7 OL, 4DL and 1 QB. UNC and UNC Charlotte have been cancelled as well.
B1G TEN to release the revised football schedule 2020 on the Noon Kickoff Show this morning beginning at 10:00 on Fox Network. I am anxious to see when we play the Wolverines.
A different twist this year Terry. Eight game schedule, but all teams will play a crossover 9th game the same day of the Big Ten championship game. I guess this might enable some teams to become bowl eligible?
That is a bit different, that 9th game opponent can't be known till the 2 teams in the Champ game are settled.
Gracious this is going to be a wild ride this fall for every team! I am glad we have Nebraska here at home for the opening game. Too bad AJ will not be able to come to Columbus and watch the train?
Just because theres no fans....you got an extra room for the night? Jeezzzuusss...be careful what you ask for....tOSU right outa the shute....both teams should have excellent camps to get ready for this RED number date!
Very unpredictable Terry, mild to winter snow storms. Farmers Almanac is predicting a very cold and harsh winter with above average snowfall.
