Congrats Bobda, Michigan was the best team. UCONN really played hard and gave them a big fight. But UM just had too much firepower and forced a ton of fouls and then stepped to the line and maded their foul shots. Big 10 sweep of the Basketball Championships. UCLA and Michigan.
NIL has really changed the college sports world. National championships for the Big 10 in football and men’s and women’s basketball although UCLA built their championship from recruiting.
It’s difficult for me to think of UCLA as Big 10. Of course it’s also difficult for me to think of Oklahoma as SEC.
Apparently, IU's portal signings have resulted in a top national ranking from at leat one national service: https://www.indystar.com/story/spor...al-roster-fan-reactions-analysis/89631381007/
As always the Portal is about 1) what you are paying 2) how good are you at evaluating the kids you are offering the $$$ 3) Will they all come together and make a good team. I am assuming IU deep pocket alums are excited by the football success and want the same to happen for the traditionally strong IU Basketball program. We shall see.
This is the stuff that has to stop IMHO. He's played 2 years of Pro ball in Europe and now we're supposed to accept that he's a freshman at Arkansas. Just isn't fair. Five-star forward Miikka Muurinen has committed to Arkansas, he told ESPN on Monday, giving John Calipari and the Razorbacks the No. 1 recruiting class in the country. Muurinen, from Finland, spent time at multiple high schools in the United States before opting to sign with Partizan Belgrade in Serbia. Before he left, however, he took an official visit to Arkansas in the fall of 2024.
