Stu, I rated your post a winner because I agree 100% with how you characterized this year's team, the coach, and the "alleged fans." I've become an admirer of Painter over the years. He's smart. He's an excellent coach. He's always composed.
Vanderbilt crushed the Gators today, a team everybody was saying was playing as good as anybody in the country. Arkansas beat Cinderella Ole Miss in OT to make the SEC Champ game vs Vanderbilt. BDR's Wildcats closed the 1st half strong vs Houston and have a solid lead right now in the B12 Championship game.
AZ making short work of the Cougars. They are clearly a Final Four type of team. Cougars just don't have the offensive firepower to stay with them
No quit in the Cougars, they were down quite a bit and came back to make it close. Congrats to Rick and his Wildcats. Worthy Champions. Beat 2 really good teams in Iowa State and Houston.
The upset of the day though is maybe happening in NYC at Madison Sq. Garden where Rick Pitino's Johnnies are up on UCONN by 20 with under 4 to play.
Heck of a game between Duke and UVA, Duke wins in another close game...74-70. UVA gave them all they could handle. Of course Duke was down 2 key players. But the Boozer Boys were too much to overcome.
Congrats Stu. Purdue looks like they are hitting their peak at the right moment. The loss may be a silver lining for Michigan to motivate them for the NCAA tournament.
Congratulations Stu, that was a game well coached and Purdue was very patient, taking very makable shots and took away the inside game of Michigan in the paint.
