NBA, NHL, MLS all cancelled. I don't see how the NCAAM would be allowed, except for the billions through Vegas.

Some are wondering if the seniors get a pass this year and will get another year if they want

Indiana HS tournament is being played this weekend in empty (except for families) gyms.

Correction: Learned this morning that the tournament has been postponed, not cancelled.

Rick Pitino has been hired at Iona as the basketball coach. For the life of me I can't understand why he wants to come back to coaching. Iona is bound to be a rebuilding job and I can't imagine they have great resources for Pitino to work with to rebuild the program. I doubt if money is an issue he got a big multi million dollar settlement from Louisville and he's made a ton of money along the way.

I guess he just loves coaching.

ESPN did an interview with Pitino about taking the Iona job. Mainly he said it's to be close to family, and to get back to his roots. He says he's been to the mountaintop (Kentucky, Louisville, Celtics, Knicks) and doesn't need that anymore, wants to conclude his career as the Iona coach.

They ask about the Louisville issues and he claims he's told the NCAA everything and doesn't expect a show cause penalty to be coming for him.

Q&A with Rick Pitino on Iona hiring, past issues at Louisville

    re: Iona
It's only a 5 man game. You can rebuild fast in basketball.

Good question, research shows that Iona has made the NCAA tourney every year since 2016 and 9 times since 2000. Never having made it out of the 1st round though.

BTW, ESPN showed highlights over the weekend from the state tourney in Lincoln...pretty cool to be on sports center at that level....even if it took a pandemic....

That was a pretty disappointing outcome for the Irish Kes, that ND team had a very good regular season and was one of the top Big East teams. But the post season was a huge disappointment we had a bye in the Big East Tournament and were 1 and done losing to a good Marquette team, but fans felt like we'd rebound in the NCAA's...instead the Cougars laid it on us. So i won't be bothering to watch that replay!! :D:D
