They have been talking 10 or so teams from the ACC almost all season. That's a lot of teams. If they do that they might have to take teams who finished under .500 in the conference. Not sure that is fair.

Speaking of the ACC, UVA took down UNC last night. UVA is known for it's defense and they held UNC to a very low score. Still unlikely that UNC will not be the regular season ACC champion.

Purdue clinched a share of the B10 championship last night with a convincing win over IU. I'm not sure how far they'll go in the tournament, but I'm certain that Biggie Swanigan is a legitimate, possibly leading, candidate for National Player of the Year. IU's three bigs fouled out trying to guard him.

Purdue now has the most Big 10 regular season championships (23), having broken the tie with IU (22).

And they are talking about a #5 seed.

Not much respect for the B10 this year...possibly justified.

We'll see how the teams perform in the tourney...at least in the early games. Low seeds will make it more difficult to get far.

    Oh well...

I really like Swanigan, that kid is a player. It's funny the perception is that IU is Big 10 basketball. But I think I remember Stu saying that during the Bobby Knight tenure that Keady had a winning record vs the Knight coached IU teams and now Purdue leads in all time Big 10 championships.

    Congrats to the Boilermakers.

As far as the respect for the B1G this year I think it has a lot to do with teams like Mich State, Michigan and Ohio State all having down years.

quite a final play in the MIch/Northwestern game last night!

Texas loses ...AGAIN...Shaka Smart starting to get on shakiy ground. Will need a big turnaround next year if he's to survive in Austin.

Womens Confernce tournaments started yesterday. Finals will be Sunday/Monday depending oo the conference. UCONN continues to add to it's 100 game winning streak.

Terry, I think that Purdue's Big 10 success is overshadowed by a lack of success in the NCAA tourney.

Got to the Championship game one time...and lost to Lew Alcindor and UCLA...of course that was the year before I started my freshman year.

Peak in February, fade in March. (sigh)....maybe not this year.

I saw Purdue and Joe Barry Carroll in the NCAA finals in Indy in 1980. It's the only finals I've ever attended. The other 3 teams were Louisville, UCLA, and Iowa. Purdue lost to UCLA in the semis and beat Iowa in the consolation game for 3rd place. Louisville won the championship.

NU's last second win probably clinched its first invite to the dance. Great job by Chris Collins this season and great to see a university that does things the right way be successful.

Iowa beats Wisconsin last night giving Purdue the Big 10 Championship outright.

Crazy...was thinking Purdue NW on Sunday would involve Purdue playing for the championship and NU playing to make the tourney...now it looks as if the game is only for helping with NCAA seeding.

Official congratulations Stu! I can not believe what has happened to the Badgers in the last few games. The last minute loss to Iowa reminded me of our own problems here in Columbus.

Watch out for the UD Flyers. They could be bracket busters.

UNC pulled away at the end to win, it was a great game. Even Michael Jordan was there for the Heels. That gives UNC the regular season ACC title, and the good news is that it means the Irish get a double bye!! The bad news for the Irish is that means that they likely face UVA, who they have never beaten in ACC play and Mike Brey coached teams have never beaten UVA either (He played them when he was at Delaware).

Watched the end of the UF/Vanderbilt game, Vandy won for a season sweep of the Gators. It was a very tight game at the end. They kept showing a very nice looking Blonde in the stands while I was watching. Turns out it was Luke Kornet's mom, she's a news anchor in Nashville. I'd call her a hot mom for sure!

So next up is Championship week with the Men's tourney's starting midweek for the major conferences, smaller conferences are in the middle of playing their tourney's right now.

Good question Terry? Matta has not been very sharp in his recent years of recruiting, as our record this year in particular shows. I am not saying he will be fired, still has three years to go on his contract.

Year before last, all of the first year class left after one season, with the exception of Laquan Lyle.
