Big game tonight in South Bend. Miami and Notre Dame, they handled us easily down in So.Fla and this game means a lot to both teams. Miami fighting to win the reg season ACC title and the Irish fighting to improve their seeding in the ACC tournament and frankly to just get going in a good direction to finish the season.
Well Miami kicked our butts again tonight. I'm so impressed with them as a team, they shoot the ball well, have a good big man and play great team defense. They are probably the best team in the ACC right now and peaking at the right time.
Thank you for the kind words Terry, I just hope Miami can make a little distance into the tournament....
UCLA gets blown out by USC and their season is over. Steve Alford so far hasn't been able to get the program turned around. They seem to have so much going for them, facilities, great campus, great basketball tradition, etc...yet since Howland took them to 3 final fours it's sort of been a steady decline. There is a ton of talent in So.Cal, I don't follow them so I don't know if Alford has a really young team and a lot of new talent coming in so that they'll be good again soon or is he on his way out the door?
Texas gets hammered by Baylor...AGAIN...ugh. We're still in the dance, but it might hurt our seeding. I think we were likely slotted to #5 seed and some thought we could move up to #4 if we got a couple of wins...but we'll likely drop a spot now. Oh well...doesn't really matter at this point you are in the tourney and have a chance! Sweet 16 run would be terrific for the Longhorns in Smarts first year.
I've never liked the conference tourneys. I guess the theory is they give the bubble teams, and those with no shot at an at large bid "a ray of hope" to end the season. But for most teams, it's just going through the motions trying to stay healthy. blechk...
The Aggies advance to face L$U tomorrow. Not a very inspired performance today but not a surprise to me. These games dont mean much...
OU get's the miracle half court shot to beat WVA, but wait replay shows it's still in his hands when the buzzer goes off.
The Aggies shook off the rust today, and put a woodshed beating on the Bayou Kitties. It was 35-14 at hALFTIME and finished 71-38. Looks like we'll face Kentucky tomorrow for the "auto" bid.
Ben Simmons not much help even though he's projected to be the top pick in the NBA Draft. I have to wonder if the LSU coach will be back.
