Just finished watching the Alabama Purdue game and what a game that proved to be. The Tide had a string of treys you could not believe in the first half. Purdue managed to outlast them in the second half but still a very tight game to the end. Alabama was much more aggressive this afternoon than when we played them in the Emerald coast classic.

Buckeyes up 41-29 at Penn State end of first half. The Nits gradually sharpened their shooting skill and aided by some sloppy play diwn the stretch, we managed to lose 83-80 in the final seconds.

Big game this weekend. Maybe the biggest game so far this season is Saturday in Indianapolis. #1 Arizona vs #3 Purdue.

Yeah the Hoosiers played well but still lost. However a MSU team that has not gotten off to a great start got a much needed big win over #6 Baylor this afternoon.

Irish lose in OT to Georgetown at South Bend.

According to our noted local sportswriter, for the first time this season, IU looks like a team that could earn a spot in March Madness. They just ran out of gas vs. Kansas.

Purdue has now beaten four teams in KenPom's top 10, and has 5 Quad 1 wins. In terms of the AP poll, if I looked at it right, we have beaten the current #1, #7, #10, and #12.

In my typical fashion, I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. But they are fun to watch right now.

Big women's game tonight in Columbus. #2 UCLA visits the Buckeye's. Bruins bring 6'7" Lauren Betts a Stanford transfer who is having dominating year so far.

Watched a good bit of the game, for awhile in the 2nd half it looked like the Bruins were going to run the Buckeyes out of their own gym. But then in the 4th quarter the Buckeyes got going and made it a close game in the end erasing most of what was once almost a 20 point deficit. Bruins are a very good looking women's team and look like Final Four contenders.

They were very efficient in the paint with those tall ladies.

Ohio State defeats Rutgers last night 76-72 in Columbus, We had a great first half but played a very different second half, with handling The Silver Knights up tempo defense. That may be a problem for us all season long?

I like this team, they're young but very talented at key spots with some vets sprinkled in. They have solid scoring threats at each level. If they can make progress on the defensive end and learn how to finish, call me crazy but I'm optimistic they can get to the dance and maybe win a game of two

I was not aware that Baylor opened a new arena this week. It's part of a development on the Brazos river where their football stadium is also located. It's pretty cool and the thing is that they reduced capacity from their old place from around 10k to 7k. They wanted a more intimate and louder gym and wanted it to be easier to sellout. Interesting concept.

I see that the finish of the Iowa vs MSU game with Catlin Clark hitting a 3 pointer from downtown, and I mean really downtown is not without controversy. Even Dawn Staley got into the act critical of the refs for the call that preceded that winning shot. Not sure why a coach of a team not involved or affected by the game is compelled to comment...butttt

The dispute centered on a foul call against Iowa's Molly Davis in the final seconds, a decision Dawn Staley suggested was game-deciding, implying in a tweet that the referee's call was as pivotal as any player's performance.

Saw the replay. Amazing! Here in Indy, there's excititement about the possibility of the WNBA team drafting her #1 IF she chooses to go into the draft, not a certainty.
