#7 KU goes to Waco and picks up another loss. #5 Marquette goes to Omaha and picks up another loss. Going on the road is tough.
#1 Houston goes to Norman and gets a close win by hitting the winning basket with less than a second on the clock. #2 Purdue at home gets the win over MSU.
One big advantage we have today is that we have already captured the Big Ten Title for this year. A loss today will not be costly and frankly it might be helpful for us leading in the conference tournament. Iowa fans are pumped up and ready for the Buckeyes in their home finale for Clark. Should be a great game to watch for all fans.
Gotta believe it's gonna be an uphill battle for our girls. Her teammates and the Iowa City fans unlikely to let Caitlin lose her last game at home without a helluva scrap. I'm thinking a 40 burger for CC , she'll want to go out big
Buckeyes lose, Clark gets the record, but looking at the score the Buckeyes showed up and Iowa had to earn that win.
Everyone now knows that Marviches record was broken by Catlin Clark today, but that she's played in significantly more games and a 3 point line. But still she is amazing and deserves all the accolades. But another tidbit, if you add Marviches freshman record, they played 19 games and he scored 893 points. Pretty dang amazing.
I agree with Terry. She earned the record and deserves it. I believe that Maravich deserves "forever" mention in the record book citing the fact that he scored his second place total in 86 games without a 3-point shot. It doesn't in the least take away from Clark. It just recognizes that Maravich was a phenomenal player in a different era.
Well the Buckeye Men win one from Michigan at home here in Columbus and the women lose to Iowa and Caitlin Clark on the road at Iowa today.
Women's Conf tournaments start this week, the final week of the season for the men. Injuries starting to come into play, Iowa lost Clarks running mate at guard and Va Tech lost Liz Kitley in games played yesterday. It's not known how serious the injuries are. The Houston Cougars are dealing with a number of injuries that have depleted their depth. It's always about playing your best at this time of the year and by being healthy.
Longhorns went to Waco and came out hot and had a 14 point lead at half time. But they couldn't hold on and lost by 8, maybe more important Dylan Disu sprained his knee in the 2nd half. Hopefully it is not a major issue, the team needs him to have a chance in the post season including the BIG 12 tournament
The Tide are about to go down, on the road of course, to unranked Florida. It's just tough to win on the road.
Pretty big shocker in the BIG 10 Women's Tournament, unranked Maryland took down the Buckeyes, by 21 points, 82 - 61. So there will not be a Iowa v Ohio State final.
