Didn't look like FAU could lose, till they did. FAU devastated, SDSU guys elated. If SDSU had been able to hit their FT's late maybe they don't need the miracle last shot!

Three minutes to go and it appears UCONN will meet San Diego State for all the marbles Monday evening.

Caitlin Clark was offered NIL $ for representing a food bank. She insisted on doing it for free.

What a 3 point shooting exhibition by LSU, it's like they are all Catlin Clark clones. They are going to have to go stone cold to lose this now. That bank in 3 by the LSU player with the flaming Orange hair might have been the nail in the Iowa coffin.

LSU is putting on quite a show against Iowa in the women's championship game. They have to be shooting in the 60% range. They have more better shooters than Iowa. Clark can not do everything by herself. A very fast pace game by both squads.

Angel Reese underneath is a machine, she rarely misses a layup and she gets such great position on the rebounds and puts them back when her teammates miss a shot.

Iowa though has not quit and has at least made it respectable with a run in the opening of the 4th. Qtr but now with 3 starters with 4 fouls they likely can't do it. That Technical on Clark was a BS Call.

Looks like LSU made a great investment poaching Kim from Baylor.

LSU just shot lights out today, 54% from the Field and 64% from 3 point land. 102 points that's just amazing. They had so much talent out there today, shooters, rebounders, and defensive players.

I don't really like Kim Mulkey, but you have to give her credit, 4 Nat'l Championships and never has lost in the Championship game. She's a great recruiter and always had a lot of talent at Baylor and she's now shown she knows how to work the portal with 9 players from the Portal this year.

LSU wins 102-85 over Iowa for 2023 Women's Championship. They played a great Hard to beat a team that shoots 65% rom the field.

To me at least this is one of least compelling Final in a long time.

If UCONN wins that makes 5 titles and under 3 different coaches. That puts them in rarified air. Only UNC (6),Kentucky (8) and UCLA (11) have more titles.

NASA astronaut to sing the National Anthem, that's a first. Not bad, not Whitney Houston, but she has to have done it before.

Starting to look like UCONN is going to run away with this game. SDSU can't get anything to fall and are turning it over.

UCONN looking pretty good in the early going. Tough in the paint and on the boards,

Interesting that they frequently refer to Steve Fisher as the father of SDSU basketball, yet his most famous moments were winning a Nat'l Titel at Michigan after Bo Schembechler fired Bill Frieder for taking the Arizona State job.. Said something about only a Michigan Man would coach Michigan and that was Steve Fisher. In reflection, can you imagine in today's world a coach telling his AD that he was leaving for another school before the season was over and expecting to keep coaching the team? How awkward.

The other thing Steve Fisher is famous for is the Fab 5, and eventually Ed Martin.

One story about this year's Final Four that struck me was about Mark Fisher, Steve Fisher's son and assistant coach at San Diego State. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2011 and does not have the use of his arms and legs.

    Minnesota 6-2 over BU
    Quinnipiac 5-2 over Michigan

Quinnipiac the quintessential east coast hockey team.

Three soft goals given up by the M goaltender. Two behind the net bank shots and a soft wrist shot 35-feet from the net that any high school goaltender would handle. Our defense was a sieve all night while Q’s older and well coached team played with discipline and skill. Like M, the Gophers are stocked with young NHL caliber talent but in contrast to M the Gophers defense is a veteran unit. Will be an interesting matchup between the best two teams in college hockey.

Bob I looked at the Bobcat's roster and they didn't have as many Canadians as I thought they would, something like 10. Interestingly they had about half of them from British Columbia. How'd those guys get past the Dakota's! The Quinnipiac coach aknowledged the NHL talent on the Michigan roster but didn't seem to be to worried about it in the pre-game interview.

Haven't looked at the Minn roster, but HS Hockey is pretty big in Minnesota so maybe they don't need to go to Canada.
