So it's possible Ole Miss doesn't consider character when hiring coaches?
I see no evidence to support that assertion...

I have followed a mailing list for years called FOSML.(Friends of Ohio Stale Mailing List)

A tweet posted to the list a short time ago is very disturbing to me:

Dick Weiss "Notre Dame reportedly zeroing in on Chris Holtmann of Ohio State as new coach. Principled guy who can coach, led teams to seven straight tournaments before blip this season."

Any confirmation from any of you ND people?

Don, I don't know anything about it, but I'd be happy if ND hired him. Sad for you but happy for ND. If it should happen, no doubt OSU would hire a solid and proven coach. It's a plum job.

Hofstra just eliminated Rutgers 88-86 in OT. Both teams played great basketball.

I thought Rutgers deserved an invite to the dance but it looks like the committee made the right choice. Lack of depth killed them after a season ending injury to Mag.

Coach Holtmann has responded to the rumor he is interested in the Notre Dame opening as basketball head coach:

Chris Holtmann has doubled down on his commitment to Ohio State.

Having already publicly stated he “absolutely” intended on returning to the Buckeye men's basketball program next season during a postgame press conference on Feb. 26, Holtmann reaffirmed that notion in an interview with The Columbus Dispatch Wednesday.

Following reports that Notre Dame continues to target the Buckeye head coach for its head coaching vacancy, Holtmann told The Dispatch “I'm not going to Notre Dame” and “I'm committed to being here.”

    I don't think there's a better answer than that.

Well it didn't take long for a bracket buster to appear.. #13 seed Furman takes down #4 seed UVA. Wasn't UVA the first #1 seed to lose to a #16 seed a few years ago?

I don't expect this to be another upset, but #15 Princeton is staying with #2 Arizona at the half, Arizona only up by 1 at the half 31-30.

Tough question and maybe unfair for the reporters to ask. Mark Shrewsberry the Penn State coach had a very good season and is sort of a hot name right now.

Penn State continuing the hot play that they showed in the Big 10 Tourney, got a 16 point lead on the Aggies at half. Maybe somebody is looking ahead to a shot at an instate rival on Saturday!

Notice I was quiet all week leading up to this game?
I've thought since announced this was just about the worst draw the Aggies could have gotten. The most experienced team in the tourney, that doesn't foul much and also shoots the hell outta 3's.
One weakness of the Aggie D was not doing well against the 3 pt shot.
So if the other team is hitting, and we're not getting fouls we'll be in trouble.
    PSU is that exact nightmare.
Oh well, it was a nice season. Sorry to see it end, but on to baseball!

Scott, the timing was bad because PSU was on fire at the end of the season. Its coach is a hot item for some vacancies. I really like your coach. He's going to keep improving your team.

Getting hot / healthy at the end of the season is big when you go to tournament play.

Xavier flirted with another bracket buster loss v Kennesaw State. I had to look up KSU, didn't know anything about them

Turns out that they are a big school in the Atlanta Metropolitan area with over 40k students. Who knew. :p

So KSU is similar to UNT... huge school just north of the Metroplex.
I have no idea why they aren't better at basketball with all that recruiting ground...
