Our game was one of those abortions where we were out hustled by the other team, lost all the 50-50 balls, had some really questionable calls at important times, made a bunch of careless turnovers, missed all our threes (1/9) while they went 9/20 but seemed like they were making them all. Yet we were tied till they hit a three at the buzzer. Very frustrating. Not to take anything away from MSU who played inspired.
The final Saturday in February turned out to be a historic day in college basketball. Each of the top six teams in the AP Top 25 lost, the first time that has ever happened on a single day in the history of the poll. A total of seven members of the AP top 10 fell, also a single-day record.
If all of these so called upsets continue through the conference tournaments, any team could end up winning all the marbles. I am not a betting man, but I would believe picking a winner might be near imossible.
My Buckeyes are goofing off again. We simply cannot seem to play two good half's of basketball. We are missing a golden opportunity if we cannot recover in the second half. Granted we are only down four points but I am worried.
Don’t feel bad Don. I’m convinced that there’s not much daylight between the top and bottom tiers of the Big 10. It’s more of a home and away thing, as this weekend has shown.
I see that Catlin Clark only dropped 38 today on Michigan but as things have been going they won big at home. Last time in Ann Arbor she dropped 46 but lost.
How covid and cancelled games impacted college basketball. The ACC forfeited two games that UVA didn't play and the Big 10 didn't. Result helped ND and Louisville, but hurt Michigan. Michigan women's basketball coach Kim Barnes Arico lamented Sunday that a game that was postponed and not made up cost the Wolverines a chance at sharing the program's first Big Ten title. Michigan and Maryland ended up at 13-4 in the league, with both having a game against the conference's last-place team, Illinois, not rescheduled. Ohio State and Iowa both finished 14-4, a .778 winning percentage to Michigan's and Maryland's .765. Thus, the Buckeyes and Hawkeyes shared the league regular-season championship, with Ohio State as the No. 1 seed in this week's Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis, and Iowa No. 2, as the Buckeyes won the head-to-head matchup for the tiebreaker. Michigan will be the No. 3 seed and Maryland No. 4.
The last game ever at The Erwin Center or as it's used to be known, the Super Drum resulted in a loss for the Longhorns to Baylor. The Longhorns have been a good but not great team this year, losing to Baylor and Texas Tech twice, but somehow upsetting KU. We finish the season at a revenge minded KU. We're locked into 4th place in the B12, win or lose. We are hanging in on the bottom of the top 25, season ending losses to Baylor and KU might just do it though. I don't think there is any way we don't make the tourney though.
Let me get this straight....tOSU loses at home....to Nebraska? No offense Don, but you guys must suck....or the team was drunk. I'll go with drunk.
AJ, the Huskers outscored us all the way.We were not at full strength, but your team shredded us with treys all night long.
Wisconsin beats Purdue in Madison 70-67. The Badgers appear to be the cream of the Big Ten! Michigan wins over MSU in Ann Arbor.
Two games in a row we get beaten by a trey with 1 second left. Defended them ok. Wiscy's last two shots caromed off the backboard and went in. Didn't call "bank" to my knowledge. Ivey seems to lack a plan and lack confidence at times...gets out of control. And lately we have not been taking care of the ball. Really careless turnovers and a decrease in our free throw percentage all are hurting us big time.
Ohio State beats MSU here in Columbus 80-69 for a much needed win. Four starters in double figures which really helped. Illini win over Penn state 60-54.
Aggies getting hot at the end Scott, long shot to make the tourney but if they get on a run in the SEC tourney who knows.
