Can't remember when I've ever seen a bigger choke job than what Louisville did tonight, up by 20+ points and lose at the end..that's going to be a tough one for them to swallow.

Pretty shocking loss tonight by Michigan. Purdue lost as well after leading at half but from what I read Maryland just dominated them in the 2nd half. Would have been big for Purdue to win on a night when Michigan loses.

I've always liked Duke. For whatever reason, whenever they win in a heartbreaking fashion, you just know they find it more satisfying. :)

Duke always seems to be ready for three-point shots to win games at the very end of regulation!

Longhorns lead by 4 at halftime but let it slip away and lost to KSU last night. Puts us 6-6 in the B12. Most feel like if we split our remaining 6 games we'll be in the NCAA no matter what happens in the B12 tourney.

Terry, Purdue was cold as ice in the second half...we weren't going to win out and I was worried about the Terp game. Now gotta put it in the rear view mirror.

Listened to Jay Bilas this morning and he was saying that in his opinion that the Committee should be looking at maybe having more Mid-Majors this year as he thinks there are going to be a lot more teams with good metrics but double digit losses, he specifically mentioned Texas. Said what are you going to do with teams like Texas who already have 11 losses and could easily have 14 yet the metrics might support them making the tourney. He thinks they shouldn't get in over Mid-Majors who have 3 or 4 losses.

Buckeyes losing to Illini here in Columbus last night probably killed our chances of playing in the Big Dance this go around!:(

I don't know Don, Jay Bilas has his rankings of the 68 teams divided into 5 tiers and the Buckeyes are #33 and in the 4th Tier!

    33. Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes have been solid of late but have little margin for error. The glaring issue is turnovers, with Ohio State coughing up the ball on 19 percent of its offensive possessions, 14th in the Big Ten. Couple that with the fact that Ohio State is not a great offensive rebounding team, and there are not enough extra possessions.

Kentucky running away from Tennessee in the 2nd half , I think they are making a big statement after feeling they got screwed over by the refs in the LSU loss

Kentucky definitely looks like a tournament ready team. I was surprised by how they dominated Tennessee.

I think Rick Barnes was as well, they do get another shot at Kentucky March 2nd .
This is when good young teams like Kentucky have enough games under their belts that they can get on a roll

I see that Villanova lost to St. Johns yesterday. I don't follow the Big East since the breakup although it's a solid league and 'Nova has won 2 nat'l titles recently. Villanova lost quite a bit from last years Na'tl Championship team and got off to a slow start but it looked like they were rounding into form and might even run the table in the Big East. But they've now lost 2 out of their last 3 games, both road games @Marquette and @St. Johns. They'll of course be a lock to make the NCAA's, but I doubt we'll see them past the Sweet 16.

Don's Buckeyes lost yesterday to Mich State. At one time they were projecting as many as 10 B1G teams in the tourney, which would make Ohio State a lock, but I don't know now how many teams will make it.

Joe Lunardi is all over ESPN this time of the year with his "Bracketology". His last update, before the weekend was 9 B1G teams with Ohio State a #9 seed.

The USAToday Bracketology has Texas as in for now as a #10 seed, but the Pac12 woes continue with only Washington probable as in and ASU as in but on the bubble as a #11 seed. B12 might get 8 teams in as will the ACC and the SEC.

Could Purdue win the Big10? Seems like they have a good shot.

Can Purdue win the Big Ten? The Boilermakers are tied in the loss column with both Michigan and Michigan State, who still have to play each other twice over the final few weeks of the season. Meanwhile, Purdue is likely to be favored in each of its final six games -- despite four of them coming on the road. The Boilermakers don't play another team the rest of the way that's above .500 in Big Ten play.
