At this point in the season, based on both teams' recent performances, Purdue beating IU is not an upset.

Yeah, Sid...it was weird...I noticed before the game that IU was rated (and Purdue isn't)...yet Purdue was favored by 9 pts. Thing about Purdue is we seem to be a bit Jeckle and Hyde...who is gonna show up?

I only get to post once here now, and then maybe again when we jump on the coaching carousel at the end of the season. Probably both in men's and women's.
    We are terrible.
Hopefully we follow the football model and "go big" this time. Tired of trying the small school guys.
We got lucky once, but have utterly failed all other times.

Scott, it seems like in Basketball it's much different I don't see that homerun hire like you got in Football. It seems like when the better teams are looking for a new coach they are all getting somebody who is a rung below but has been doing great. Big East Coaches seem to always be in demand, and while they are considered a top basketball conference, none of the schools there have the money to keep their coaches from looking at programs that can afford to pay them whatever it takes. Chris Mack left a successful Xavier program for Loserville, Archie Miller left a successful Dayton program for IU, Chris Holtman left a successful Butler program for Ohio State, Dana Altman left a successsful Creighton program for Oregon, etc.

As for your womens program, your coach has won a Nat'l Title, and currently sits at 14-4 for the season just outside the top 25. I can't see you guys getting rid of him.

Yeah Terry, I'm sure that's how it will go, but one can hope! :)

I should have separated the two teams.
We're not terrible on the women's side, but with Gary B in his 70's now it ain't like it used to be either.
We'll be competitive, but the current teams aren't playing with their old fire and urgency, and he's losing out on recruiting as well. I suspect he'll be allowed to be around as long as he wants (and deservedly so) but maybe he'll realize that time is coming...

Kelvin Sampson is doing well at Houston, he says he loves it there and isn't interested in leaving of course. But I wonder what would happen if a program like A&M said we'll double your salary. BTW it does seem like he's finally learned his lesson with regards to playing within the rules!:rolleyes:

The Vols ascend to the #1 Spot in Men's College Basketball. Kudo's to Rick Barnes and the Vols.

Pac12 has no teams ranked in the top 25

SEC and ACC both have 6 teams, Big 10 has 4

Well I think all Pac12 teams will be sent to regions in the North East and the South East! :) Games on the West Coast will be reserved for Gonzaga, Nevada and other Mountain West teams! ;););)

Iowa State almost took down KU at Manhattan, already had beaten them at Iowa City.

Ohio State finally wins a game after a five-game losing streak at Nebraska this afternoon. This was a big win for the Buckeyes and on the road as well.:)

Thanks Don. We still have some talent but they are wildly inconsistent which I attribute to the coaching...

Thanks, Don. Hard to keep MSU quiet forever. We ran some nice plays that didn’t score and still hustled during their run. I think MSU’s mistake was playing Hack-a-Noel and he knocked down the free throws.

    SEC/B12 challenge results
    Georgia over Texas
    Tenn over West Virginia
    Kentucky over Kansas
    Texas A&M over KSU

    OU over Vanderbilt
    OSU over So.Carolina
    TCU over Florida
    Baylor over Alabama

To be fair... 3 of the better teams in the SEC: Miss St, Auburn, and LSU were not part of the "challenge"...
    :p

Hell (Michigan) has frozen over, and Louisville women have handed Uconn its second loss of the season. Could we be looking at semi-parity in women's college basketball?
