ha! That's a mighty steep claim. But in this world of hype and one-and-done players, I guess you gotta take the route you think will work best for ya.
Heard today on ESPNU that over 800 college basketball players are already in the Portal for transfer. That 1 in 3 players finish at a different school That coaches now fear disciplining players by sitting them down, that they will just transfer.
Sounds like Fred is Husker Red through and through! Well except for that part about being an Iowa State alum and former coach and one of the Cyclones greatest basketball players...other than that he's all Bugeater! Hoiberg introduced as Nebraska Men's Basketball Coach
Yeah....I found it funny that our Golf Coach was his college roommate....and supposedly went to Moos and ask him to consider this guy....
AJ, if I was in your shoes, I'd be pretty excited about the future of the program. I like Hoiberg for the simple reason that he was drafted by the Pacers and played the first few years of his NBA career here.
So far a very good game between Oregon and Baylor, Oregon was up 1 at half now Baylor is up 3 in the mid 3rd quarter.
Baylor prevails over Oregon, Sabrina Ionescu the Oregon star who has been a triple double machine this year was held to 6 of 23 shooting. Baylor controlled the paint and that was the game. It was a very good game very close
Baylor wins another close game, this time beating the Irish by 1 point. The women's final four produced 3 really great games. ND's win over UConn was a come from behind win that went down to the wire, the Baylor win over Oregon was the same as was the Nat'l Championship game between ND and Baylor.
Va.Tech hired the Wofford HC to replace Buzz Williams. He's not a young up and coming coach he's been at Wofford for a long time. Jamie Dixon did not leave TCU, that was some what of a surprise. It was being reported as a done deal, and then it wasn't. Some say that the 8 million dollar buyout on his contract was the deciding factor.
I see where Rick Barnes name is popping up as a possible hire for the Bruins? That surprises me due to the fact he seems so happy at Tennessee.
Now that Rick Barnes has turned down UCLA they are reportedly after Cincinnati's Mick Cronin. He's a lifer at UC, student there, grew up in Cincy, started with Huggins right after he graduated, his dad was a legend in HS basketball in Cincy. But money, glamour and glitz all reside in Westwood, not Cincy!
Mick Cronin your new UCLA coach. No roots anywhere west of the Mississippi...should be a piece of cake!
I was shocked to see that hire this morning. Life in Westwood will be a bit different for Micky! I imagine fans in Cincy will be in an uproar over his choosing to leave for the big City!
