Inside folks say the deal with Buzz is pretty much done. He wants to come back to Texas and is a great fit for us.
    We shall see...

Texas Tech knows how to play defense for sure. Turnovers by the Zags was too much to overcome!

Sorry Stu. Pur-Va played an incredible game tonight. Sucks that one of these two teams had to lose since both teams played with such heart.

Great win for MSU over Duke to advance to the Final Four. Constant lead changes made this a paradise for basketball fans. Izzo and Coach K have to be rated as o pair of terrific coaches.

MSU was pissed that after winning the Big 1G tournament and having beaten MI (a No. 2 seed by the committee) 3 times they were given a no. 2 seed in Dukes region. Way to go Sparty.

Texas vs TCU in the NIT semifinals, we've not beaten TCU this season, either at home or their place so maybe a neutral site is what we need. Surely Shaka Smart needs a win, to help the mojo of this Longhorn squad and give him a good start to maybe turning his coaching career at Texas in a positive direction.

Kentucky has offered Cal a lifetime contract, probably in response to UCLA inquiring about him and reportedly making him a big $$ offer.

Houston has reportedly offered Kelvin Sampson a 6 year 18 million dollar contract. No word on what Sampson is going to do regarding that contract. I hope he stays at Houston, it would be nice to have stability and a good national team for the Cougars.

Terry, you had asked a week ago about Thad Matta coaching again? I ran across this little blurp this morning from a local site.

Matta has an offer from UNLV as well, and the job was reportedly "his if he wants it," but if he's passing on UCLA it's tough to imagine he's going to willing to accept that one instead, especially if the alternative is collecting $100,000 a month to do anything else you'd like to do.

Those checks will keep coming in until June of 2020, as long as he keeps seeking a "comparable employment position," as the contract stipulates. So until July of 2020 rolls around, forgive me for being just a tad skeptical every time Matta's name is mentioned in a coaching search.

He gets a 100K a month? That's pretty sweet, I wonder if he used Charlie Weis's agent? I hope he can feed his family on that! o_O If his health is what you say it is, then this time he has off maybe he can get healthy and come back to coaching sometime after that 100K check stops coming in the mail!

Vanderbilt reportedly set to hire Jerry Stackhouse as their new HC. Which made me wonder what's happened to Kevin Stallings who was the longtime Vandy HC and had some good teams in his tenure, he never won a conference title, finished 2nd or 3rd a number of times. Took the Pitt job when Jamie Dixon left for TCU, but it was a bad move and he got fired after last season with the worst record in Pitt History. Sometimes the grass isn't greener is it! He's currently out of coaching.

Jamie Dixon to UCLA? Bad news for the Horned Frogs, he's an alum and left Pitt to come home to "mama". Frogs have been good but not great under Dixon.

I can not remember so many star freshmen declaring so early for the NBA Draft! Seems everyone wants a big paycheck yesterday?

The sad thing Don is that a lot of these kids will go undrafted, but for a lot of them they probably don't care and can play in the G League or go to Europe and still make a lot of money. These are kids who if they had played baseball likely would have signed minor league contracts rather than take the college route.

Kelvin Sampson signed a 6 year 18M contract extension. That's a good thing for the Houston Cougars.
