Well it's official, Kansas loss last night to OU ends their 14 year run as B12 regular season champions. Texas Tech and KState are tied at the top, TT has Iowa State in it's final and KState has OU in it's final so we won't know who will be the regular season champ(s) till after those games are played.
I see that a Minn student ran up to Matt Haarms after the upset and flipped him off with the double bird. I hope they can identify him and there are consequences for his behavior.
Most observers seem to think Ohio State will have to win this evening at Evanston vs Northwestern to make the NCAA Tournament. This may be a difficult task for the Buckeyes!
LSU basketball has a great freshman class and is also having a great season. But now it's all under a big dark cloud as their coach, Will Wade, has been caught on a FBI wiretap talking about paying players. Sean Miller somehow has survived a similar situation, so maybe Wade will as well. But it's not looking good. Miller was one of those young rising coaches. He was a Shaka Smart asst at VCU, who went to Chattanooga for 2 years and came back to VCU when Shaka left for Texas. He did well at both spots and got the LSU job, last year was a transition year for him and this year they have been very good with all those young players he has brought to the program. But at what cost.
Will Wade indefinitely suspended by LSU. I don't see how they can let the kid in question play either, but no word on that
Michigan State defeats Michigan to share the title with Purdue! Great game by both teams with good defense and ball control. All Michigan first half and all MSU in the second half.
Purdue/Mich State B1G Co Champions. Texas Tech/ KState B12 Co Champions LSU SEC Champions...wonder if they'll have to forfeit these games Washington Pac12 Champions Virginia/UNC ACC Co Champions Villanova Big East Champions Houston AAC Champions Gonzaga WCC Champions. Longhorns loss to TCU today puts their NCAA bid at risk, still could get in though. I think most feel that Duke with healthy Zion Williamson is the best ACC team, but that's not what happened. Zion supposedly ready soon, but they lost another starter early in the UNC game tonight.
My Tarheels are right on schedule. Biggest question is who will be NU's next head coach?....Rumors are that its gonna be the Chi Bulls last coach?....Nevah Hoid of the bum
I didn't know the Huskers Coach was on the hot seat. I thought you got off to a good start this year. You're overall record is over .500. On another note, there is continuing talk about the future of Shaka Smart. The Mods on InsideTexas don't think he's going to be fired this year mainly due to the cost to pay him off. But there are rumors that Danny Manning will be out at Wake Forrest and that Wake may have some interest in Shaka which would relieve Texas of paying a buyout. Names that are being tossed around if he left include Buzz Williams at Va.Tech.
Tim Miles had the team too do something this year. He was given only a 1 year extension to see if he could make the dance, which he wont. Fred Hoiberg?
Buzz worked with Billy G when Aggie basketball made it's rise from long slumber a few years back. Wouldn't be a surprise at all if he's high on the list of folks to replace Kennedy.
Billy G !! Haven't thought of him in awhile. Talk about a crash and burn. I looked him up and he's still at Ranger Jr. College and coaching though.
Hoiberg would be a great hire for Nebraska. He did well at Iowa State but made a mistake when he left there to coach the Chicago Bulls which combined a dysfunctional management team with a roster of incendiary head cases. Nebraska has a lot more resources than Iowa State. Combining that with Hoiberg's coaching and recruiting skills would get their basketball program to a higher level.
Surprising loss by the Zags. They beat St. Mary's both times they played in the regular season, one time by 40 points, last week they beat them by 15 at St. Mary's. Will this loss cost them a #1 seed? I guess a lot will depend on how the ACC and SEC tourney's play out. UVA, Duke and UNC along with Tenn, Kentucky and LSU all have designs on a #1 seed.
I think they are a #1 seed regardless Terry! That was a nice win over GaTech last night, Louisville will be a bit more difficult this evening!
