Fingers crossed they choose one of the other candidates.

LSU hired the guy from Arizona, Jay Johnson.

Arizona is a great job as well, not LSU great but a place you can do well at, coaching carousel has another spin.

Down to NC St vs Vandy, and Miss St vs Texas to see who makes the final.
Both the Wolf Pack and Bulldogs have a game to give.

Long rain delay so I didn't stay up till the end, watched a couple of innings went to bed Texas up 1-0. With that late start/finish it's great that the Texas/Miss State game is the late game today.

Had to chuckle at this reference to Nebraskans hate of Texas.

Game 12: Texas vs. Mississippi State, 7 p.m. (ESPN/ESPN App)

By virtue of their opponent, and the fact that Nebraskans will root for just about any team but Texas, the Bulldogs should be crowd favorites. But they're also sentimental favorites, as Mississippi State has never won a College World Series in its 11 previous trips to Omaha. Beat the Longhorns, and Mississippi State advances to the championship round. Coach Chris Lemonis has to like his team's resiliency. The Bulldogs were no-hit for seven innings Tuesday against Virginia and down 4-0, then erupted for six runs in a 6-5 win.

Covid issues have left NC STATE with only 13 players in today's game.
I am a little surprised as the Vax has been widely available since early April. ND student body reached nearly 100 %
vaccination level, they were told if they got to 95% they could have a graduation weekend.

They haven't commented on the vaccine status of the team, the players in the protocol must either have decided not to get the Vax or they have unusual break through Covid infection.

In an odd move, to me at least, after allowing NC State to play yesterday the NCAA declared the Wolfpack out of the CWS due to Covid and Vanderbilt automatically advances to the Finals. Vanderbilt by not having to play another garme or possibly 2 will be well rested and have their pitching lined up for the Final vs the winner of Texas/Miss State

    Odd to me also.

This also gives Vandy an advantage with rested pitching.

I guess with only 4 pitchers 3 of who pitched yesterday they really don't have enough players

Great game tonight between Texas and Miss State. State wins with a walk off run in the bottom of the 9th.

Landon Sims, the State closer was awesome.

All SEC final. Vanderbilt and Miss State.

Did you make it to the game AJ? With the weather delay and all I couldn't make it past the 4th inning.

Tonight is for all the marbles. Both coaches held back their best pitchers, so it will be Rocker v Bednar. Miss State didn't need to use their Ace reliever either last night. Crowd is going to be decidedly in the favor of Miss State. State has played very well in the field while Vandy has had a few issues. Low scoring game that turns on a key error?

State looking like the National Champs right now, Bedard has been great, no hitter through 6 innings. Vanderbilt some sloppy fielding and they got to Rocker.

    Some perspective.
    1. Neither Vanderbilt or Miss State won their division in the SEC regular season. Both finished 2nd to Tenn and Arkansas.

    2. Both were eliminated in the 2nd round, SEC final 4 was, Fla, Tenn, Arkansas and Ole Miss. Arkansas beat Tenn for the SEC tournament championship.

Yet here we are.... At 12 teams this could happen in football.

Oh yeah and Miss State was beaten like 25 - 3 in their 2 games in the SEC tournament.
