Interesting names from the northern part of the country, but history has shown that northern teams with few exceptions don't get far in the tournament. Even if they make it to the CWS as Cinderella teams, they generally are among the first to be eliminated
Sid it's a new era, global warming has changed the deck of cards and the northern teams may surprise... On a side note I just planted 30 acres of Persian limes with 70 acres of lemons coming later this year, it's a guarantee that a new ice age is soon to occur!!!
Corey, I was wondering about that. I don't follow baseball much but I know we are very bad lately.
Well... The first day of regionals is over, and things couldn't set up better for the Aggies. The #3 seeded Ags beat #2 seeded Baylor to open. Then... the home team Houston loses to 4th seeded Iowa. Win later today, and the Aggies are in commanding position. Couple that with Super-regional pairing national seed UNC losing to 4th seeded Davidson in their first game, and things start to get very interesting. I'm sure UNC will right their ship, but for now there's a sliver of hope. The Aggies are not strong enough to make any noise in Omaha, but it would be nice to slip in when not expected...
KP, You're not going to be bad for long and you're going to get a lot more talent in. The probably Mr Baseball in this state is my son's buddy. He flipped to Auburn from Bama because of this guy. Those guys have already signed for Auburn so there's not much he can do for this class. Your future will be bright though. The last time there was a hire this good in the SEC, Vandy went from bottom feeder to world beater.
The Huskers beaten by Yale and then eliminated by Holy Cross....wow. Rice season ends, but at least their pride was resurrected by the CUSA tourney win and making the regionals. Aggies vs Houston Cougars....Cougars have to beat them 2x Gators vs Bethune Cookman! BC beat them yesterday so today is for all the marbles. Texas and Long Beach for all the marbles today. Been a decent first season for the Longhorns new coach, goes to great 1st season if he can beat the Dirt Bags and get to the Super Regional.
Wow! The Aggies made it interesting, after being up 4-0, we needed some drama so had a mini implosion but got the win 4-3 to advance. More importantly, Davidson (4th seed) wins the Chapel Hill Regional knocking out UNC. I'm told the 12th Man Foundation is sending out emails about Super regional tickets, so it looks like that will be in College Station. So a #4 vs a #3 to get the vacated (I believe) #2 national seed. Fun fun fun!
Diamn Dirtbags! As one Texas fan said, we were who we were all year...we couldn't hit water if we fell out of a boat! Not a great first year for the new Texas coach, but he was playing with Augies boys, has to bring in the talent of which there is plenty in the state of Texas.
I see that in honor of one of it's most famous alums, Kes, the Coog's are coming to Houston soon to play the U of H Coog's. Sounds like a road trip to me, well for some of you!
Good freakin' lord that was hard! The Aggies are so un-fundamental. Can't get bunts down when needed. SS can't play a clean game.... EVER! At the end... the Ags were 2-18 with runners in scoring position! Load the bases with no outs, and TWO pop-ups in a ROW! I think back to highschool ball, when we had a bit of batting practice that was nothing but PUT IT IN PLAY, for just such a situation. The Aggies needed 3 tries to get it done. But they did...
Louisville makes quick work of Kentucky and is the first to advance. If the Aggies make it, they will face the well rested Cards. Oregon St looks like the beast their record suggests and the Dirtbags are on course as well. More tonight...
How about that Oregon State pitcher who was on track to be high MLB draft pick and was the ace of their staff. Now he's been outed as a sex offender. I wonder what will happen, would any MLB club take a chance on him.
Sadly I think you are right. I don't think there is a cure for pedophila, he might be able to control it, but he's always going to be at risk. Plus any team that drafts him is going to face a constant backlash from various groups.
