A good deal for the fans of the losing teams who are still there.

Had to hold my breath for 3 hours, but the Aggies take game one 9-5.
It's always nice to start the game with a lead off home run.
Don't know if they can complete the journey tomorrow, but I might just stay up all night thinking about it.

The Vols evened it up and send us to a rubber match for all the marbles tomorrow night 4-1.
The Aggies did make the Tenn faithful a little nervous in the bottom of the 9th, getting men to 2nd and 3rd and then sending a ball to the track for the final out.
Not sure who we have left to pitch... I think the injuries are finally catching up to the Aggies.
We'll let 'em play anyway. :D

Amazing to me that you held on that initial one run lead so long in to the game.

Scott, you may have lost the game for all of the marbles, but A&M had a great season. Be proud!:)

A little late on the Congrats to Tom and Cindy. I had to get up at 4 this morning, so went to bed after the last out.
Tennessee is a monster of a team, and the Aggies were just a few horses short.
Was glad to see the boys fight to the end.
A great season, and something to keep building on.
Hope to be in the conversation this late next year. :)

Looked to me like two pretty equal teams battling to the very end. It truly wasn't over until it was over. Congratulations, Scott, on A&M's outstanding performance throughout the season and in Omaha.

David Pierce out at Texas, he had good but not great success. 3 CWS appearances in his 8 which would get him a Statue outside the field at Notre Dame but the door at Texas! :D

National search for high profile coach.

The Vols' lead-off HR was a hard punch but I loved how the Ags' CF sparked them with a two-strike bunt, advancing to second on a throwing error, and then stealing third before being knocked in to tie the game in the 3rd. Unfortunately, UT responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning to make it 3-1. The Vols exploded with two outs in the 7th (single, HR, single, double) to go up by 5, but the Aggies scored four runs during the 8th and 9th innings before running out of at-bats.

I thought it was an overall well-played game, with Tennessee gaining the edge as a result of timely hitting. Congratulations to both teams on their seasons.

All true Rick. We didn't get that lucky one to drop as we had for most of the CWS.

It now appears there is one more gut punch coming for the Aggies, as its being reported that Schloss will leave and head to Austin.
I'm a "never say never" guy when it comes to coaches leaving, but I have to say I am surprised.
A&M can pay him whatever he wants, and has committed $85million to the expansion/renovation of Olsen Field. He's build a great foundation for a team that could make another run next year.
Then again... he did walk away from a great program he'd built at TCU to come to A&M, so he doesn't seem to have any loyalty.
What I find sad is this means he was probably in talks with them before the CWS... and that rubs me a bit the wrong way.
We'd already heard that Pierce had cleared out his office several weeks ago, so the announcement he was gone was just a formality...

I am shocked to here he's leaving for the Texas granted the Texas job is one of the plum jobs in college baseball, but still as you noted A&M can match Texas.

Maybe it's just that he wants to live in Austin.

What a gut punch to the A&M players who played their hearts out for the guy and the next day he's gone.
