My grandson is a Marine stationed at Camp LeJeune. Recently he and some friends traveled to see a game at East Carolina. It was a 7 inning run rule no-hitter. He was impressed.
College baseball is a lot of fun for those uninitiated. Most schools have their own quirky little traditions they carry on such as fans shooting gobs of bubbles when an Aggie hits a home run... Give it a try if you get a chance.
My wife, Judy, and I loved watching the College World Series together. She was a baseball fan. IMO, college baseball is the sport in its purest form.
Agree even a team like Notre Dame which is at the bottom of the ACC and barely .500 overall, took 2 out of 3 from Wake Forrest one of the better ACC teams.
I didn't hear what Coach said, but have a look for yourself at the UGA pitcher during his "amazing" run of strike outs - K-ing 6 of the best hitters on the team to end the game. Nothing on the back of that glove I'm sure...
$*(#&(*&$&!!!! Well you can't play flawless baseball for a whole season, and the Aggies have decided to completely put all their nonsense into one series in Baton Rouge. Plagued by errors, wild pitches, bad baserunning decisions, and anything else you can think of the Ags have now dropped the first two games to the one team in all of baseball I wanted to beat most. On the plus side, I got a very difficult maintenance repair done on my F250 this morning... so I got that going for me.
What has happened to the Miami Hurricanes baseball program? That used to be a great program with a lot of talent and a lot of wins. Now they are struggling and not as good as the Irish in the ACC. FSU went through some tough years but with their new coach who struggled last year they are making their way back to the top it seems. But not Miami.
After a very disappointing last two weeks of baseball where the Aggies played less than stellar we come to the final series of the year against Arkansas. Last night was an insane pitchers dual. 0-0 through nine. The Hog starter was as good as advertised fanning almost 20 I think over the time he was in. The Aggie's Ryan Praeger stood right with him, holding the hogs scoreless as well. Amazingly... the Aggies take the win thanks to a walk off walk in the 11th. That's the first time this year the Hogs have lost when their ace starts. That's also the Aggie's 10th shut out of the year. Contrast that to last year when we led the league in walks. What a difference a new pitching coach can make! Two games to go... hoping for a series win to take us to post season on a roll.
So its about time to start thinking of the Regionals. Who's in and who's out. A lot will be determined by this weekend. Other than maybe a surprise auto bid, the tournaments haven't been shown to mean much. Skybox teams projected to be "in" by D1 baseball: Tennessee as a top 8 seed A&M as a top 8 seed texas as a 2 seed for a regional Alabama as a 2 seed for a reginal Arizona as a 2 seed for a regional Nebraska as a 2 seed for a regional It seems odd not to see the Gators in, but their pitching woes took them out of contention.
Aggies have a big series this weekend don't they Scott, win or lose probably doesn't impact the post season much if at all, but it's time to get hot after losing 2 out of 3 to LSU and Ole Miss.
Ya missed my previous - previous post I guess. Most teams started their final series last night since school is out.
And since I know a lot of you fellas are Midwesterners, check out Indiana St carrying your banner! (This is the RPI standings - used to seed the tourney)
Well... we didn't get the sweep, but the Aggies run-ruled the Piggies today. With #1 RPI and a top 18 SOS overall I see no way the Aggies aren't a top 4 national seed. Tennessee will probably be #1 overall.
Yeah, I got a donor's survey a few weeks ago asking what amenities I'd prefer. Sounds like a lot of the new stuff will be high end... I just want a new bleacher to sit on instead of the damned grass burms!
