Well... I was a little surprised when I went to follow tonight's game between the Aggies and Tide, only to find we'd already played one, and were halfway through the second! I assumed they were playing the normal schedule, FRI-SAT-SUN, but they shifted to Th-F-S for some reason. Then the Thurs Game was rained out, so double header today. This was a scary series, as the Tide had just knocked off #1 Arkansas for their first series loss. How would the Aggies do with the big #1 target on their back on the road? Turns out... they are doing ok. Scored 10 unanswered to win the first game 10-5, and went on a batting exhibition for the second game winning 18-9. Supposed to play the final game tomorrow, but with rain forecasted all day, that one may not get done. I'm happy with a big series win on the road for sure, no matter what happens tomorrow.
That weather is impacting the Texas and A&M Spring games, heavy rain predicted and start times have been altered. Texas may even opt to not play the game.
The Tide salvaged game 3 by a score of 10-9. The Aggies got a man to 3rd with no one out in the 9th, but proceeded to foul out foul out and then watch strike three. As I said yesterday I'll take a road series win over a ranked team anytime, so I'm not remotely upset just hate to see the chance to tie and maybe complete the sweep slip away like that. On to the next series with big hitting Georgia in College Station...
It was a non-con game scheduled the Monday following our series at Cal to get in an additional game against a good opponent with minimal additional travel expense. We'll also play a Tuesday non-con game at Arizona State in May. Neither Stanford nor ASU is as good as usual this season, but then neither is Arizona. The Cats have been fortunate to go on a 16-1 tear during the past month, which is good because May could be brutal.
The Aggies take game one from the Bulldogs in a little bit unexpected manner 5-2. UGA probably has the most potent offense in college baseball, and the Aggies aren't far behind. Turned out to be more of a pitching game with both teams having only 6 hits... but 4 from the Aggies left the yard... so. Double header today since stormy weather is expected to wash out tomorrow.
Holy shite! The Aggies go down 9-0 in the first, but end up run ruling UGA 19-9. Don't piss off this Aggie offense!!!
The Bayou Kitties as Scott would say aren't a very good team this year, so the Ag's should prevail handily.
Well poop! The Aggies leave about 100 guys on base late in game 3 and come up short 4-5. Another series win against a ranked opponent, so plenty to be happy about. Still one game back of Arkansas.
We're not in the same league as all y'all...but Purdue is on a streak Purdue baseball on historic streak, takes Big Ten lead
Stu, as all you fellas know: baseball is a funny game and streaks matter. All they need is to believe (which it surely appears they do) and they can go a LONG way.
Amen, Scott. Lightning in a bottle. Just last week Arizona fans were talking about potentially hosting a regional following a hot streak after having started the season poorly. Then the Cats coughed a 1-2 series hairball at 9th place in the Pac Washington this weekend, cooling enthusiasm considerably.
Yep, it sure can go the other way when you get a little too comfortable. Hope your kids get it figured out... the post season is more fun when the bracket is full of Skybox teams!
Here ya go Don... This is a composite that shows all the rankings together. https://www.collegebaseballhub.com/top-25
Thanks Scott, but I thought Terry had posed on a football topic, probable should begin wearing my glasses again!
