Funny how it went from "We're stealing their whole team" to "we didn't want them"...

Its very early, but that schedule should definitely tell you where Arizona stands for the season!

This is disturbing, at least to me.

Sounds good Rick, but Northern teams like Ohio State are at at risk.?

It could be a mixed bag. It's great for the players, and long overdue, but it's a HUGE increase in cost for the Athletic Departments that are now saddled with the big settlement costs coming.
Large schools committed to baseball will swing the additional schollies, but the smaller guys may not be able to offer the full allowance which would be another disadvantage.

Something is broken in your link Rick, it won't load.

I do agree that baseball needed a boost in their scholarships. It will be expensive for sure for everybody. Teams like most of the SEC who have relatively large stadiums and fanbases who show up and pay for watching it will be better positioned.

I don't know what will happen at ND, our cost of attendance his very high and while maybe some of the kids are getting some NIL we don't have the type of kids who are going to get the big bucks. Also ND has really not put having a top notch program at the top of the Ath. Dept goals. So I will be surprised if the Irish even come close to giving out 30+ full scholarships. Not to mention if they do it for the men they will have to do it for Softball or the Title IX ratio will be out of wack.

    WOW!
Friday starter Ryan Prager has decided to return next year instead of signing with the Angels!
The Aggies are going to be STACKED for next year.

Pretty unusual for a high draft pick not sign, usually a deal with the player is made before they draft him so as to not waste a pick.

Could that be a plus for NIL?

I've heard that the Angels spent a huge amount on another guy out of his slot that might have pulled a considerable amount from what they offered Prager. Leaving him in the position of NIL being close enough when it shouldn't have been if he got what his slot outta be.
    Thanks Angels!

Scott, thanks!!! I thought our 2023 BaseVols were a stronger all around team but they screwed the pooch too often. The 2024 team overcame mistakes and learned from them.

My apologies for being away so much. I retired in February 2021 and Cindy and I relocated to Upstate South Carolina. We now live across the street from my 20 year younger brother Jim. My 86 year old mother is now living with us after her second husband passed in July 2023. Before that, I was a road warrior between SC and Chattanooga Tennessee providing care for both of them.

My health has taken a hit now. I’m fighting battles on several fronts. Maybe I’ll be able to spend more time here since my 4 hour each way trips to Tennessee are no longer necessary.

Hope all is well with everyone here.

Likewise here Tom! We are very familiar with taking care of loved ones. Joyce's twin sister had a stroke back in June of 2009. She is completely disabled on her left side. Takes a lot of care and we are pretty much home bound, so we know what you are up against. One of us needs to remain on duty with her daily.
