Somehow I missed that Auburn had lost their first game, and have now been bounced from the tourney as the first host to go down. Ok St is soon to be the 2nd, as they are being trounced by DBU in the 9th...
Looking like RPI that the committee uses is not such a good metric for seeding. 9 of 16 hosts either have one loss, or have been eliminated already.
#6 national seed Vandy is 3 outs away from being bounced by Xavier! (Currently in a weather delay) TCU is laying to wood to Arkansas 14-1 in the 5th to see who controls the winner bracket in Fayetteville. DBU leads Washington 9-1 in the 8th for an elimination, and would face undefeated Oral Roberts! One loss host Coastal Carolina will face undefeated Duke shortly... What a CRAZY tournament so far! Forgot to mention #4 national seed Clemson was sent packing with Tennessee now in control of that regional.
Dammit man, I so want to. We are starting construction of our "forever" house right now... all my funds are tied up in that, along with my time. Put me down for next June tho... I'm gonna get to Omaha and buy you a beer or two! Maybe I'll get Kesley and his kid to come along.
It sucks for those kids, but those are the rules. The umpire had really bad body language there, but still...
Longhorns take down Miami and are into the Super Regional. Holy Cow did TCU do a number on Arkansas, one guy hit 2 Grand Slams and drove in 11 runs in their 20-5 wipe out of the Hogs.
The Aggies did their typical Sunday fold and are forced to play a final game against Stanford tonight to see who advances.
Well while I was asleep, the Aggie's season came to an end, falling to Stanford in the final. It was an up and down year, and with our pitching woes, it was unlikely they'd make it to Omaha this year. We're in good hands tho, so I look forward to next spring. Now Terry's Horns can travel west and he can read about the games the next morning since they play so damned late.
Impressive, OU wins the women's Nat'l Championship, a 3 peat. 61-1, 53 game winning streak beat FSU 5-0 and 3-1. Sweep. 7th Natty for Patty Gasso the Nick Saban of Women's Softball. Just an amazing program right now. They have so much talent, pitching depth and are the best hitting and fielding team. Complete team.
Wake has had an incredible year no doubt. When I think of college baseball powers, I don't think of Wake Forrest but this year they have a great team. I sort of hope they win it alll.
