Might be as many as 9 SEC teams in Regionals, maybe 6 ACC teams.

Aggies hit the top 10 this week!

    Rat poison!!!! ;)

It's conceivable the Aggies could get a top 8 seed, but would need to win out.
Our pitching isn't good enough to warrant that, so I won't hold my breath.

I have been amazed at how Tony has brought the Tennessee team so far along this year. The original post in this thread mentioned three SEC teams and Tennessee wasn’t mentioned. However, today, Tennessee is #1 in the nation and the #1 seed in the NCAA tournament is a possibility as long as the bottom doesn’t fall out.

A drive of less than 3 hours made it possible for me to see a few games this season. Great to see this Tennessee team playing with confidence.

Actually Tom, there are only two SEC teams mentioned... that other team ain't in the league yet. :p
And...none of them held up their lofty preseason ranking.

Tennessee is the Gold standard of the SEC this year and there's no doubt of that.
Everything I've heard says Tony V is an excellent coach... but he's also a bit of a dick.
I know that doesn't matter to Vol fans... cuz he's THEIR dick. ;)
And the dude is winning. Hard to argue with that.

upload_2022-5-11_19-25-8.png Scott, I can see why you have that opinion. Spurrier was a dick and he won. Nick Saten is a dick and he wins. Lane Kitten is a dick in every sense of the word.

I like Tony. He is good for Tennessee and Lord knows we need that!!! upload_2022-5-11_19-25-8.png

Tennessee has clinched the #1 seed in the SEC tourney, and is a sure top 8 Regional host.
The Aggies and Hogs are tied for first in the west, with the Aggies holding the head to head tie break.
Final series of the year will decide that race with both a possibility to creep into the top 8 host slots.

TCU and Tech are in the driver's seat for the BigXII season title.
Tech has 4th place OU to finish, while TCU is done with conference and plays UC Santa Clara.

In the ACC, Miami will face off with the Irish. ND needs a sweep to be in the top, but Va Tech could also reach that record facing lowly Duke.
If Miami wins one against ND it looks like they win the ACC.
    Not sure, it's kinda messy.

The BIG looks like it's Maryland, Rutgers, Iowa, and Illinois at the top. This weekend they will face the mid-pack teams right behind them, so it could get all screwed up there.

The PAC has Oregon St, then Stanford, UCLA, and Arizona. The rest can't get enough wins to pass
Oregon St. The Beavers face UCLA who is 2 games back. Could be a wild finish out there as well.

Scott I see the Aggies are taking some heat for cancelling the game with Incarnate Word.

Yeah, which is funny since multiple other teams have also cancelled games/series this week.

I have ZERO problem with it. The game was guaranteed to lower our RPI even if we beat them 100-0, and the committee has shown they value RPI far too much in recent past.

of course, since we hold the West tie breaker over them.
No one seems to have noticed Ole Miss did the same thing.
Also, IW was happy to drop the game since their conf tourney starts Thursday and they can save some.pitching.

Crazy! What was that pitcher looking at?
ND runner had it in the bag until the fall, but an alert pitcher would have made that play once he went down.

Miami takes game 1 from ND 6-4, and I think that clinches the ACC for them but not sure.
The Aggies and Hogs both win, so still tied for #2 seed in SEC tourney...

I don't think Miami clinched the ACC with the win. The Irish rebounded to shut them out 5-0 yesterday and looking at the standings the ACC still does divisions in baseball according to their website. Miami is behind Va.Tech in the Coastal and ND leads the Atlantic. If they seed the ACC Tourney by winning % then right now it would be 1. Va.Tech 2. Miami 3. ND 4. Louisville.

I knew Va Tech was still in it but didn't check the standings after the first games of the weekend. Can ND get the 2 seed if they take the series?
    Edit:
I see why I was off. Va Tech is going to end up playing 2 fewer conference games after having 2 with the Irish cancelled. So they are ahead in percentage with fewer wins.

After playing really good ball for a month plus the Aggies finally rolled out a stinker in Oxford. 6 walks, a hit batter and 4 errors will get you beat just about every time. Bama beat Arkansas so still tied for #2 seed with one to play.

I don't think we can get the 2 seed if they go by ‰.

No, you can't. You can get the 3 or 4 seed depending on what you and Louisville do.
If VT wins, they will be #1 no matter what. If they lose and Miami wins, Miami will be the #1.
If ND wins, and Louisville loses, ND is #3, if Louisville wins, then ND is #4. If ND loses and Virginia wins the Cavs take #4.
That is significant only if the ACC tourney is like the SEC in which the top four teams get a bye in the first rounds.

Sorry ND guys (but good for Ralph!) Miami wins the rubber match today
16-7. The Irish leave 7 stranded, and still that wouldn't have been enought.
I'm guessing the Irish ran out of pitching. ;)
Bama drops 18 on Arkansas to take that series, and guaranty the Aggies the #2 seed in the SEC tournament.
What a great year for the new staff and team. From ZERO expectations to a probable host in the post season is amazing. Can't wait to see what they can do with more time to get things settled.
Currently the Aggies lead Ole Piss 9-5 in the top of the 7th.
