Using your criteria of winning a world championship, JIF, none of the great Red Sox for 90 years were worth a damn. That would include Rice, Yastremski, Williams, Pesky, Clemens, Tiant etc. etc.. Sound foolish now, doesn't it? A-Rod is 31 years old and will have 500 HRs before this season is over. Barring serious injury he will obliterate a few of the all time records including HRs and RBIs before he is done. Was Ernie Banks less of a player?

Jiffy....thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten that Sparky won the Cy Young award in 1977. If I'm not mistaken, I believe he also got a ring that year.... :wink:
