Yeah I would think Elko has worked hard to get the Irish defense turned and that he'll want to finish that job, but as I said he does apparently want to be a HC but didn't get any mention this season in the coaching carousel, but if he continues to build the ND defense he'll probably get the opportunity.

    But money does talk.

Jimbo has been VERY tight with info so I suspect this was just a name tossed out to see if it gets any reaction.
If there was anything to it I figured you guys would have seen some smoke.
I'd say this one is unlikely based on what I see here.

Not a good start for Herm Edwards at ASU. I guess their plan for him to come in and be the CEO of the current staff is falling apart. Both Coordinators have moved on and they have had a number of players back out of their verbals. Herm might be a good coach, although there is nothing in his record to suggest it, he's now going to have to build a staff rather than manage the staff he inherited.

Saban was speaking this weekend and had a question and answer period. The last sentence was heartening. :D

Not so fast, I have it on good authority that if the Notre Dame job ever came open that he would like to finish his career by leading the Irish to a Nat'l Championship. He's always wanted to coach at Notre Dame, but things never lined up for him, now that he's accomplished all his goals at Alabama there is one thing left for him to do. Notre Dame. :)

Sid - I am very pleased with Leach and would like to keep him. However, WSU is never going to be able to outspend other schools to match offers if he really does want to leave. The story has been that he doesn't like all the BS that comes with being at those other schools, but in the end, does an extra couple million per year assuage those headaches.

As well, I would attribute more success this year to Grinch than I would Leach. If WSU loses Grinch the ceiling drops a lot.

Those butter servers are good at spreading rumors.

Butter servers! I see what you did there Sid! :)

BTW in a surprising coaching move. Lane Kiffin agreed to a 10 year deal to coach the FAU Owls!

No kidding. For college coaches it seems like the buyout is the whole thing. There are reports that ND tried to fire Kelly last season but that his buyout was too big and he wouldn't negotiate it down 1 penny. So they came up with the new plan Kelly 2.0 where he fired a bunch of coaches and brought in new coordinators.

So unless Kiffin has a big buyout, it's mostly a PR move it would seem.

LSU choked down the big buyout for Les Miles, and I believe the Gators did the same with McElwain, I don't know about Butch Jones.

This one came out of the Blue. Rich Rod was fired at Arizona today due to charges of Sexual harassment by a former employee of the Ath Dept.

Very strange though, after making the accusal, she refused to provide the evidence that she claimed she had, but their internal investigation turned up information that lead to his firing.

Not sure if other schools will be hiring Rich Rod as this exit sounds bad.

Assuming he has a big buyout (and he gets it) h doesn't have to work for quite a while.
