Not much of a "move" but the Aggies thought they had their DL coach in the Packers Jerry Montgomery, but after taking the job and all...he backed out when Green Bay upped his offer.
I don't pay much attention to coaching moves other than ND, but I saw where a guy just recently hired by Harbaugh at Michigan is leaving for Alabama. I'll leave it to others here to fill in the details.
That would be Dan Enos the OC/QB coach at Arkansas under Bilema. He was hired Jan 8th. Now he's headed back to the SEC to coach the Tide QB's. Maybe a couple of weeks in the Mich winter convinced him the South was the place to be!
ND <r>O.K. So everyone else is having fun with getting or keeping their coaching staff together. I was getting paranoid there for a while. Thought it was just ND. <E></E></r>
Nah it's just that time of the year where some guys play musical chairs and chase that money even when the music stops.
Well I didn't see this potential move coming. Jim McElwain was spotted on the Michigan campus, possibly interviewing for the job that Dan Enos vacated. Bringing that Gator offense to Ann Arbor?
Bob Davie suspended 30 days without pay. Not looking good. Link to article below: http://www.espn.com/college-footbal...ob-davie-cites-misconduct-found-investigation
Clearly it's no longer business as usual, I won't be surprised if he loses his job over this the 30 day suspension is just the preliminary. He'll either resign under pressure or will be fired. Same as Rich Rod. Ga Tech basketball coach is in deep trouble as well, different circumstances and of course he's vehemently denying it and he might in fact be scammed. But you have question why he was even friends with those people
Bama's DL coach, Dunbar, leaves to take a job in the NFL. How nice of him to do it after signing day. For the record, I hold the same criticism of Elko going from ND to A&M after the early signing day.
Twice now Harbaugh has stuffed and crushed that McElwain Nussmeir bomb of an offense and now he wants to hire the guy???? Urban must be doing his happy dance!
Corey, what is the criticism? Do you think it would have changed what hats were lined up on the table for ESPN?
We all like to think that the kids pick the school, but a great many of these kids pick the coaches they will play for in the next 3 to 5 years.
I hear what you are saying, but if the coach leaves before signing day and recruits for his new school, is that ok? The way I see it, the kids know the coaches may change, they take visits to determine where they want to go, then they get on TV and make a big show about which hat they are going to put on. There are positives and negatives to kids switching commitments at the last minute and there are positives and negatives to coaches leaving before or after signing day.
It's a job, I'm surprised it was just WR coach. But I won't worry about his family having a roof or food given how much the Gators had to pay him to leave.
Well if there were any doubts about the future of Mark Dantonio at MSU due to fall out from the USAG scandal...forget about it. Michigan State just extended his contract. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/22467278/mark-dantonio-annual-contract-extension-approved-michigan-state-field-issues-involving-football-program
Seems like a lot of coaching moves in Ann Arbor this off season. The OCoord resigned suddenly and Ed Warriner former ND OL coach and Ohio State OL coach and I think he might have been a OCoord there as well at one time, is the new OL coach. https://www.maizenbrew.com/football/2018/2/23/17044132/tim-drevno-resigns-from-michigan-according-to-reports
