I don't know much about FAU, so I'm surprised that Kiffin took the job...is that a school with some upside to it's football program?

Also...note to Bobda...the Rams job is open. New stadium, owner is richer than God....I hear California calling to Jim Harbaugh! :)

    Lol at the Harbaugh comment!!

Terry we are talking the Owls here...Howard Schnellenberger coached them at one time and they are located in Boca Raton with five satellite campuses.

I am shocked that Kiffin accepted the job and didn't think it possible..

The State of Florida is getting a whole lot of coaching egos crowded in one area, this should prove interesting come recruiting time. Funny thing is we have one more college on the brink of adding a football team in SW Florida...

5 satellite campuses. Howard Schnellenberger took them bowling, but other than that, their history is pretty empty. It sounds like the kinda swamp that will turn the other cheek and let Joey Freshwater tune up his Tinder game.

Gators lose their DCoord Geoff Collins to Temple as their new HC.

Kiffin introduced to the players at FAU as the best coach out there for them. Kiffin to of course stay at Alabama through the playoffs, might try to bring a coach or two from Alabama, not sure why anybody would leave there for FAU, but he also said he might reach out to HS coaches as well.

I would have felt better if the Gators lost their offensive coordinator, guess you can't have everything

Not to worry Bobda, Harbaugh has debunked those rumors and said they are coming from 3 coaches who everybody knows are abunch of "Jive Turkey's"...I wonder who he's talking about?

In fact I believe his statement was even stronger than when Nick Saban told every body he was not going to be the next coach at Alabama.

uh oh...The Mike Elko to ND might have a snag....apparently Jim McElwain has noticed him as well and UF is in need of a new DCoord.

Don't know anything about Canada and haven't really followed Pitt so I don't know what they do on offense or how good they are. I know they beat PSU and Clemson so I guess this is a good thing. I mean for sure he will have a ton more talent to work with at LSU than he had at Pitt though.

Any talk in Alabama about Sark being in the mix to be the OCoord? Hasn't Nick always gone outside the program for his OCoord?

Jim Leavitt moves from DCoord at Colorado to DCoord at Oregon. I guess it's sort of a lateral move, but the pay at Oregon is probably a lot more than the pay at Colorado. Leavitt is a good DCoord, just has that incident at USF which got him fired as a black mark on his record.

There is talk of Sarkasian being the OC but I think the drinking problem is probably a very large concern. Kiffin was just an asshole!

I hope Sark has his demons under control. It'd be a good situation for everyone if he's on his game.

Well, Sarkasian is the latest Alabama offensive coordinator. Football-wise it is probably a good choice, but the attention he is about to get is probably just as intense in Tuscaloosa as it was in LA. I hope he can handle it.

Kp, I hope it all works out. Saben has put himself in a less than desirable position if Sark blows him out of the water down the road.

    Don,
Yeah probably, but hopefully this last fall has been a sort of probationary period for Sarkasian. You are right though, one DUI or any type of alcohol related incident would be a very bad thing.
