Now I hear that Chip Kelly has told ESPN during an interview that Florida never offered him the job. That's kinda surprising.
KP. But people talk about the SEC West like it is all Alabama. There's a big ass drop off from Alabama and I know you know this. Sure, Auburn can pull off the upset every few years and take home the west, but really who has been a threat since Manziel left A&M? Dave, How do I ask 16 questions/statements and you only pick the one that has to do with the Gators? You've been talking about **** you know nothing about for months and now you reign it in to your home territory? And I'd be remiss if I failed to point out that another subject was Gator'ed.
Corey, How has a topic about a Chip Kelly coaching hire in the last 10 days not involved Florida also?
Corey, 4 of the 7 teams in the SEC West ended up in this weeks CFP rankings and realistically I saw the Alabama loss to Auburn coming, and Ole Miss beat us twice in a row, Manziel couldn't do that so I don't necessarily agree about the huge drop-off. Anyway I guess we'll see. I wonder what Spurrier really thinks about the hire?
There's a video of Spurrier talking up the hiring of Mullen as great for UF. Mullen has vowed to "embrace" Spurrier's presence and what all of us Gators thought might happen with McElwain and that's consult with Steve a little bit from time to time about ball plays and the offense etc. Spurrier is on record recently saying that he offered to assist McElwain with his putrid offense twice this season but was rebuffed. That's just an illustration of the reasons McElwain was fired.... too damned cocksure of himself and of his lousy OC Nussmeir and their (in)ability to call up a good offensive gameplan. But Kp..... your question about this above and my response probably belong in another topic.
I dunno Dave.. the name of the thread is "Chip Kelly to UCLA" and there's literally another thread out there for Kelly to Florida. That's Gatoring a subject and you do it constantly. Then you go on with a palm full of lotion to babble on about Mullen vowing to embrace Spurrier, as if anything SOS has to say should hold any relevance to what's going on today. He left the game (Spurrier) because he couldn't relate and win anymore. He was just too out of touch.. Now this guy is some sort of pontiff waving his hand of approval over what is and isn't happening there. Y'all got some problems.. But I digress, this is precisely how you Gator a thread.
It was kind of a joke. I think it was mistake to give Spurrier an official position that was not on the coaching staff and I'm sure Spurrier "approved" it, I mean approved of it.
