Hey everybody knows white boys can't jump!! BTW a good free article up on ISD about Rees and Hendrix. Rees/Hendrix Also I saw a blurb that Gunner Kiel will announce his decision before Christmas and that LSU is very much in the mix along with Vandy and ND. While LSU has won a lot of games under Miles, I can't really name a LSU QB who has developed into a NFL Pro. I guess you could come up with Jamarcus Russell but I doubt even Miles wants to take credit for that slacker.
Irish have offered Devin Fuller a NJ QB, he's supposedly a great athlete. Krebs do you know anything about this kid? That they have offered him leads me to believe that Kiel has told them he's not coming.

Impressive looking kid, don't know anything about his level of competition. Did he play Don Bosco? But he is Rivals #2 Athlete and #34 overall ranked player. He's been recruited a lot as an athlete but from what I've been able to gather he really wants a chance to play QB in college. Rich Rod at AZ is now recruiting him, he'd be a great fit for the RR offense sort of like a Pat White or Denard Robinson, not quite as explosive as Robinson. The odd thing is that when Molinar was our OC ND was only interested in him as a DB/Special Teams kid but now that Molinar is gone we are suddenly back in and offering him a chance to play QB. Physically he reminds me a lot of Golson, but Golson was more of a thrower in HS than a runner like this kid. If we aren't going to get Gunner I'd like to have this kid, worst thing that happens is that after a year at QB the staff asks him to move and he either does it or transfers. He's an awesome athlete and could probably play Slot as well as CB/S. Making the move to defense for him will probably be more mental than anything else not just as in I wanna play QB, but as in does he want to knock the snot out of people.
After seeing the video I agree with all of Terry's comments. This kid would be perfect for Rich Rod at Arizona, but the Irish could make good use of his talents too. I don't know if he's really a D-1 QB. I have some doubts about that. He could be made into a D-1 QB over time, but his other athletic skills are ready to go right now. I think Molinar had it about right: DB and special teams.
Excerpt from BGI: Fuller is from Old Tappan, a small town near the New York border. It used to be home to Vincent "The Chin" Gigante, who infamously had the entire police force of Old Tappan on his payroll. Ah, the good old days when you bribed someone and they stayed bribed. 8)
The Tappan Company was founded in Bellaire, OH in 1881 and relocated right here to my home town of Mansfield in 1889. When founded in 1881 it consisted of WJ Tappan selling cast iron stoves out of the back of his wagon. It's headquarters was located here for almost 100 years as the company had several "firsts" including the first household microwave oven. The Tappan Company was part of an absolutely booming industrial town in the first part of the 20th century. Other industries were Westinghouse, Ohio Brass, Mansfield Tire and Rubber, and General Motors. All of those are gone now, victims of the steel recession, job loss overseas, and prolonged labor disputes. AK Steel (formerly Empire Steel) maintains a diminished presence. Tappan was bought out by Electrolux and shut down. Westinghouse used to be the largest employer in the county. The two largest ones now are the hospital, and (ahem) the county government. Go figger.
It has to be a little bit tough for a kid who has been such a successful athlete at QB in HS to give up playing QB and move to another position in college. We had a kid here in Houston named Russell Shepard he wanted to come to Texas but Mack told him he wasn't a QB, but would be great at several other positions. He was a great runner just like this kid but not a very polished passer. Les Miles told him he'd play QB at LSU, so that's where he went and he stayed at QB for a year and Miles told him if he wanted to get on the field he'd need to switch positions...so now he's an excellent WR for LSU. Supposedly one of the reasons Denard Robinson did not go to Fla, his childhood favorite is that Urban Meyer wanted him to play DB and Denard wanted to be a QB. Well Denard is certainly one of the most exciting players in America, but he'll never play QB in the NFL. So will what happened to Pat White happen to him, if you remember WVA and RR was the only school to offer Pat as a QB, Alabama, Auburn, UGA all wanted him as WR/DB. Pat never adjusted to WR in the NFL and is out of football now. I know there are some players who were QB's in college who did make the adjustment, Arnaz Battle of ND is a WR in the NFL, I remember an Inidana Option QB who played WR well in the NFL. But it's a tough move. More certain for those guys to move to a position that they can play at the next level but it has to be tough sell for a kid who is so successful in HS at QB.
Good article on Hendrix below. With Rees and Hendrix now spliting the snaps with the #1's it will be interesting to see what Hendrix does in the game. Kelly said that Hendrix picking up the blitz will be the key, something he didn't do well vs Stanford. He said that if he were FSU he'd come after him right away till he proves he can handle it. He also said if either Hendrix or Rees got a hot hand he would stick with that one during the game other wise he'll try to mange getting both of them in the game. Hendrix
A lot of pressure on the Irish to win this one. Finishing with 9 wins is a tick up from 8 last year and would give us a boost going into the final stretch in recruiting. A loss esp a bad loss would hurt the program and put Kelly on more of a hot seat than he already is with some fans. On the other hand while FSU no doubt wants to win this game, they won't be impacted by a loss, their recruiting is going extremely well and recruits aren't likely to be affected by a loss and Jimbo Fisher seems to be on solid ground with FSU fans. Other notes, Gunner Kiel was supposed to announce his school last Friday, then he was going to announce on Christmas then yesterday and now it's tomorrow. Everybody seems to be sure it's L$U, but if it is why is he having such a hard time with just standing up and saying I'm going to LSU?
Caution: That is an opinion, not a fact. Who are "some fans"? NDN? I'm sure that has Kelly shaking in his boots. If we should lose, which I don't believe we will, it will not be a "bad" loss.
