Per year, the number of exec orders has gone down for each pres since carter (80 per year to 32.5 per year so far for obama). The record is held by fdr, at 290 PER YEAR (3522 total). XOs really started getting out of control with Teddy at 144 per year (first time over 100, jumping from McK's 41 per year), then Taft (181), Wilson (225), Harding (216), Coolidge (215), Hoover (242), all per year.

Definitely not what i expected to see. I hope trump continues the trend.

Nice Sid that you injected some truth into the "fake news" conclusions....

There is so much of that now that it's hard to discern fact from reality.

My uncle out in Ca. is such an unabashed racist and right winger that he continually posts extreme fake news blog blurbs and "breaking news" statements on his Facebook to the point that I am afraid he actually believes what he is posting.

Hillary and Obama make up about 90% of these crazy ass posts and it makes you wonder just how much fake news misinformation out there is being digested and taken to heart by the conservative right wing blog readers and especially for disciples of Trump.

    Stu,

My left leaning friends and family just don't seem to relish putting false fake news blurbs out there in my newsfeed.

    1948 Propaganda Santa

The newest version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) includes an amendment that would legalize the use of propaganda on the American public, reports Michael Hastings of BuzzFeed.

The amendment — proposed by Mac Thornberry (R-Texas) and Adam Smith (D-Wash.) and passed in the House last Friday afternoon — would effectively nullify the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948, which explicitly forbids information and psychological operations aimed at influencing U.S. public opinion

At this point with what I'm reading if the above article is true the chatter between left and right is only a distraction to what is more important. I hope this proves false but I tend to feel that it's the hope of some in power that we feed on each other for the distraction to what is actually going on...Or in other words why am I wasting my time getting pissed off with **** that is only a waste of time...

Obviously plenty of leftist loving liberal media all around the world:

They need some right-wing bloggers and ultra-conservative radio hosts overseas or soon we'll be the lone man standing.... us and The Donald and Putin against the world...

Hey it's going to be one hell of an entertaining ride.

Hopefully it's not like watching the Armageddon Asteroid approach with nothing you can do about it.

My only question is if he surprises the pundits which at this point is everyone but about three media sources will you give him credit?? I have family who have been heavily involved in the union hierarchy with police unions who hate him because he falls into the extremely rich catagory, they admitted whatever he does will not matter they will continue to tear him apart. To me this sounds similar to the uncle you mentioned but on a different scale and wavelength.

I don't see Armageddon heading our way, I see somebody outside the oligarchy we have lived with for the past thirty years who understands human nature and showmanship and will offend entrenched traditions we have come to consider normal in American politics. This fact scares the crap out of those who have made a living covering politics in our country.

Let's face it we have been living in a broken system so far removed from what working people consider tied into our normal lives that we instinctively know they have no clue nor do they care to understand. Wouldn't it be surprising if a rich businessman with a cabinet who has nothing but been successful in the current system shakes up the entrenched bureaucracy that seems to be more concerned about their welfare than those they serve.

My biggest fear is we currently have two distinctive voters living in our great country that are so far apart in ideology that the only result is another civil war to settle the issue...I'm always the optimist in the hope we can meet in the middle to settle our problems but lately that hope is hard to find...

That would be a short civil war since only one side has guns.
