BYU to go Independent?

    Birmingham is the heart of Tide country.. Troy is down Auburn way but still a 50-50 area.

    Mobile, as you well know, is a very talent rich area that is growing rather rapidly... Add to that, Mobile has been for some time an 'open season' area on athletes. LSU has done well there as have other SEC schools. It isn't as locked down of an area as either UAB or Troy.

    We'll see.. I know UNA is also looking at going DI (suicide in my opinion), but USA has the resources. Will they the leadership? Will the old boy network protect Alabama and Auburn as they have in the past? We'll see... but USA has a lot more right in their own backyard.. They could become a commuter school power ala South Florida.

    Also, Joey Jones is as loved as they come.. how someone else didn't grab him up is beyond me.
