Motorcity Gator, I have listened to this theory from numerous sources. I just cannot see the BCS people permitting this scenario to play out. Of course I think we have all seen some wierd things occur over the years. Since you live in Michigan, I will forgive you for being a true blue fan! Don
Nobody wants a rematch in the NC game that is for sure, well nobody except the fans of who ever loses. But at this point its just a math equation and there is no provision for anybody to do anything about the solution to that equation if they don't like it. So it could happen. We don't have to look any further back than Neb/Miami or OU/USC neither Neb or OU deserved to be in the game but the math put them there anyway. Terry
The poll voters need to have the cahones put either a once beaten USC or Fla or Arkansas well ahead of a once beaten OSU squad that lost the last game of the season at home...if that were to happen.
Secretly I was sort of hoping for a Mich win and that Texas would slip into the #2 slot. You see I've been nursing my supply of those fine Michigan jellies since the Rose Bowl UM/UT game and this would be a chance to refill my supply of those tasty treats!! But alas it will not be, I wonder if we can get that Boise State fan who used to work with Kesley back so I could get something going with him for the bowl game!! Terry
Pretty freakin' ironically bizarre to hear a Gator fan speak dismissively about the prospect of a rematch in the NC game ain't it? Can you say 1996? imo, the loser of this game goes to the head of the list of 1 loss teams - behind any undefeated BCS teams - by virtue of who beat them. Seems as if this was the logic in 1996 was it not?
BT...that was a whole different set-up and never would have happened with today's BCS rules. Hey if OSU didn't trip over themselves vs. Michigan that year a UF-FSU rematch wouldn't have mattered that year either.
