It's a good thing for McConnell that he can't be fired by Trump:
Mitch McConnell warns Kentucky about coronavirus' surge as Trump downplays pandemic - CNNPolitics
"Well regretfully, my friends, it's not over," McConnell said Monday at a hospital in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. "We're seeing a surge in Florida and Texas and Arizona and yes, here in Kentucky."
It's a far different message than what's being espoused by President Donald Trump, who boasts about the country's response, demands the economy reopen, rarely urges Americans to wear a mask and dismisses the virus' surge across the Sun Belt and the rise in cases in 37 states.
"It's going to take a while to get a vaccine," McConnell said back home this week, less than a week after Trump promised a vaccine "very, very soon" and in "record time."

Sounds nice AJ except for that 35 mph wind howling across the flat plains in Jan. when the actual temp is 5 degrees..... and the wind chill is 35 below. :)

From the article: Cleveland and Detroit ranked as the most-stressed cities in the country.

Ironically, those are the only 2 teams to never have had a super bowl appearance. Hhhhmmmmm.....

Careful AJ.... Oklahoma yesterday reported it's highest number of new cases since the start of the pandemic and Nebraska it's highest number in 6 weeks. One good Trump rally and maybe you can catch Oklahoma.

Dave, if football is cancelled you can go to BLM or ANTIFA looting and arson rallies because those are free of any covid threats.

I don't know if they're still having those reckless criminal get togethers George but we know for a fact that Trump has a 15,000 person maskless..... crowded.... partying soiree planned in Covid epicenter Florida in about a month. That is if anyone chooses to show up by then except for campaign staffers and secret service who all don't mind sharing some virus.

Not worried about it Dave. God and mother nature are in control. Time to hit this thing head on with sufficient PPE protocol, and get Merica! Running again. And hey!, I forgot to mention the RUNZA eating contest next month!

You have made this a political issue, not a health issue. You feign fear and concern over "reckless behavior" yet you know this potentially helps the Democrats cause. Collateral damage, right? I don't think anyone on here believes you.

George you do mistake me as someone who cares.... about BLM.... I guess because Trump paints everyone not in his corner as dangerous leftist radicals. Do I think peaceful protests with social distancing and mask wearing is ok? It's not for me but I'm not bothered by it unless it is disruptive or violent.
Anything beyond that is extremists and radical and I'm totally alarmed... dismayed and in Trump's corner on that type of behavior.
But Trump's rallies are not proven to be safe and he doesn't encourage safety either. His approach to the pandemic is all about full speed ahead and to hell with the health and well being of those who would endanger themselves and others in order to show him their devotion. That's just plain sick and abhorrent.

Here's a guy that went to Trump's Tulsa rally maskless..... has a rep for not being safe about Covid ( obviously ) and sometime after that rally became the first governor to contract the virus:
Kevin Stitt, Oklahoma governor, announces he has tested positive for coronavirus - CNNPolitics

And on cue South Dakota yesterday reported it's 3rd highest day of new cases since the pandemic began. Probably more fun to come in both South Dakota and Oklahoma...... stay tuned.

They should offer the poor Secret Service guys that have to come to Jacksonville in August for the GOP Covid Party some serious hazard pay.

The trend for GOP leaders to break from the Trump camp continues:
" Republican Gov. Larry Hogan of Maryland wrote in a Washington Post op-ed Thursday that during the beginning days of the crisis "it was clear that waiting around for the president to run the nation's response was hopeless; if we delayed any longer, we'd be condemning more of our citizens to suffering and death."
Governors "went their own way," Hogan wrote. "Which is how the United States ended up with such a patchwork response."

Moron. Wants to sit on his ass and wait for the Feds. It's a patchwork response because it's been a patchwork epidemic in many ways.

Of course the alternative is that he was ineffective but why not take the easy way out like all the other losers.
