Stu, I fully agree with your observations This team has been painful to watch at times, yet still have survived several times in difficult situations. Hopefully Thad can have a better year in 2015.
Don and Stu, Will Craft be back for a 9th year? (When a kid has the impact on a program that Craft has had, it seems like he's been there forever)
Somebody apparently forgot to tell the 12 seeds that they were 12 SEEDS!!! Only that epic collapse by NCSU prevented them from all advancing.
Sid, I think it is safe to assume many players in the Big Ten will be relieved he is gone. (grin) Tremendous young man, intelligent and always a fierce competitor. We will certainly miss him next year.
Love the image Terry, and that's about right Donovan is probably the best coach the Gators have ever had in any sport. Would have been neck and neck with Spurrier but Spurrier left and has now been at S. Carolina for about the same amount of time he was at Florida. But Billy Donovan is very special to us Gators.
Probably worked for the best that I did not make the bet. Lloyd's vet was not happy that the pooch gained 8 pounds this Winter. Splitting 1/2 a BAPP with me would not have helped him in his effort to slim down a bit. But that picture sure does bring back fond memories of joyful gluttony!
I think I read somewhere that this is the first time two brothers, have coached winners in the NCAA Tournament, Sweet Sixteen. Sean Miller Arizona and Archie Miller Dayton. Dayton may even beat Kansas?
Being undefeated for the whole season, is not what I would want for my team, going in NCAA Tournament play. Wichita State was ripe for an upset and Kentucky was able to ruin a perfect season.
With Kentucky in the sweet 16 and really playing well you have to think they could make a final 4 run, they will have a couple of really good teams in their way in Louisville and Michigan but they have a lot of talent that if they have finally figured it out could be very tough out from here on in. If they do make the run, it certainly is further validation for Caliparris methods of bring in teams of 1 and dones and going that route. But not many places can assemble the number of HS All-Stars that he's been able to do in his time at Kentucky.
Don that to me is a big potential problem, I do believe that the NCAA does not require you to take 12 hours/semester but to complete 24 hours per year. Theoretically a kid could take less than 12 in the fall, and no matter what he enrolls for in the spring not bother to even show up for his finals if he is going to the NBA. Of course that in fact might only happen in a very rare instance. I had heard that Carmelo Anthony stopped going to class as soon as he passed the point in the season where it mattered and didn't show for any finals. Again that might not be very common as the NBA draft is in the summer so the kids are risking eligibility if they don't complete their academics and don't get drafted. Of course to many now, the 1 and done player is killing college basketball and I for one would like those guys to have a way of going pro just like the baseball players. Go Pro or go to college.
