Thought we needed a topic to talk about the remaining games in general.

ESPN posted an interesting article on the much maligned Lane Kiffin. I found it an interesting read.

I had posted this on the Notre Dame topic, but more appropriate here:

A side note here that might interest you Irish fans re Urban Meyer and Notre Dame (Lou Holtz era)

One of the most anticipated bowl games of the season, two absolute powerhouses with incredible tradition facing off...I have been amazed by the ability of the Irish to lose players but never skip a beat this season, and looking at the recruiting of both teams they are stockpiling skilled players to continue without missing a beat...

Should be a great game for fans to watch. I am expecting a close game as both teams play very similar type of football. A lot of NFL talent on both sides of the ball by each team.

It sounds like he has bought in to "the process" or he has been "Sabanized" or whatever you want to call it. At least he has for now. 8)

Navy crushing Pitt, Mids have almost 600 yds of total offense. Keenan Reynolds has 3 rushing TD's. I am still more than a little surprised that they didn't beat Houston and get to the AAC Championship game. But still an excellent season for them and should put them in the final top 25.

I'm sure jif was glued to the set to watch his favorite whipping boys.

<t>I have to chuckle a little when I see other team face Navy for the first time and see what us Domers already know...there isn't anything easy about playing the middies. I wish Reynolds well in his Navy career but I'm sure glad we don't have to play another game against Navy with him as the QB.</t>

Well after 4 months of football the Middies have one less win than the Pats. Then again, the Pats have lost one more game than Navy. Navy has a better winning percentage.
Glad to see Reynolds go. Hope he makes admiral....anything but tormenting my Irish again. :)
And belated congrats to the Huskers. Love to see anyone stick it to Mora.

Go Bears! They don't have a Qb so they are going to run for 600+ yards tonight..

    Next up Tech vs LSU.

I never thought I'd see a stat line like this for an Art Briles Baylor team..

111 yds passing and 645 yds rushing. Great job by the Baylor staff to make do with what they had, an awesome OL. Kendall Briles looks like a dufus on the sidelines but he's a rising star as an OCoord IMHO.

Not looking good early for the Aggies, Louisville dominating on both sides of the ball. Jake Hubenak looking very ordinary

Well we've decided to fight back in spite of worst OC in Div 1.
Not sure we can get enough big plays to pull out a win but at least we showed a pulse.
At least the weather is decent here.

Well Aggies are still in the game, maybe they will get going in the 2nd half.

I do have to wonder if Andre Ware is related to both Bobby Petrino and Lamar Jackson...he's going on and on about them. You'd think Jackson, who is having an excellent game, is the best dual threat QB in the country.

Spavital is still the A&M OCoord, I wonder when Sumlin is going to tell him he's out of a job?

Well the Ag's hung in there and had a chance to win at the end. Maybe that Hubenak kid will work out pretty well! :)

Louisville QB really looked good as well.

Scott what is the word on Spavital, do you think there is any chance that he's not let go next week? What are the rumors on who might take his place?

Lamar Jackson 200+ yards passing & 2 TDs, 200+ yards rushing & 2 TDs, vs. a respectable upper level D-1 defense. I'd say he's one of the top dual threat QBs in the country. And he's only a freshman. The future is bright at Louisville with Jackson at QB.

    Two plays killed us:
The QB keep and the delay toss to TE.
Guess what? Those are two plays our defense never practices against so of course they are clueless!

Oh well, the bowl streak had to end sometime.

I honestly don't know about Spavital. Last week we were sure he was gone but Sumlin seems to be bowing up to all the speculation.
I know this: if he brings Spav back he will be betting his future on it.

Didn't stay up to watch the USC game, just looking at the final score it's not a typical Holiday Bowl though...I seem to remember many Holiday Bowls being big time shootouts. Looking at stats...Cody Kessler seems to have regressed this year, and JuJu and Adoree Jackson weren' t the terrors everybody thought they were. Who was coaching USC, didn't Helton let go of a bunch of the staff after the season? Has he replaced them already, I can't imagine the fired guys staying on instead of being out there looking for jobs.

I see that Sid is also a distant relative of Petrino and Lamar Jackson! :) We'll have to see how he works out next year against tough ACC defenses! :)

Did you see the reports of TCU QB Trevon Boykin getting in a Bar Fight and eventually being charged with Felony assualt of a Police officer?

    http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/14472105/tcu-quarterback-trevone-boykin-was-arrested-bar-fight

Glad I don't have TCU in the Alamo Bowl. :)
