Wild Finish to the Orange Bowl. FSU tried to blow it but just couldn't quite do it. Great game to watch though.
FSU was hammering the Wolverines all night long thru three-quarters. Then Michigan made a dramatic comeback in the 4th quarter. Too bad that Peppers could not play with that hamstring problem. Whether that would have made a difference is anyone's guess. I did not read of any negatives from Harbaugh's post game interviews. Tough ending for Michigan in their last four games.
He must have been pretty tame after the game, I haven't seen anything in the post game write ups online. Key play was of course his ST giving up that big return. The way his defense was playing I don't think FSU could have gone 75yds in under 2 minutes for the tie or win. Didn't watch much of the Neb/Tenn game but that #9 for Tenn abused the Neb OL from what I saw. Stanford got the win without McCaffrey and USAFA ran off 42 straight points for their win. Academies were 2-1 in the Bowls. Good for them. Navy was beat at the buzzer so to speak.
Don't forget Butt got hurt early also. FSU had their own injury problems but UM lost their two all americans just before the start and early on. Harbaugh just said how proud he was of his team. Both Peppers and Butt might have been better served planning to sit out the bowl game like McCaffrey and Fournette...but wasn't going to happen...too much character on that team. http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2016/12/michigans_character_revealed_i.html
Butt has a torn ACL. NFL writers had projected him to go anyway from the first to third round prior to his injury so it is pretty clear his injury will impact his draft status. He was wise enough to take out an insurance policy for injurying himself in a bowl game but still feel really bad for the young man who chose to end his career playing with his teamates in a bowl game rather than sitting it out.
Bobda, of course you agreed with her by uttering those two magic words...Yes, Dear. The WMU QB is from Ft. Wayne.
Since Friday the SEC has been on fire with Tenn, LSU, Bama and Florida all winning handily. If Auburn wins tonight I won't be surprised.
Well the best bowl games with the best teams come on New Year's weekend and the SEC has risen to the top this weekend. ( and of course Bama in the CFB playoff ) Actually I left out Georgia and Ky so the record over the weekend is now 5-1 with Auburn to play. Best Rose Bowl ever.... sure am glad Penn State got left out of the playoff over Ohio State.... aren't you?
With Oklahoma blowing out Auburn, B12 will finish 4-2 this bowl season. TOK needs to do some chest thumping on this board. http://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2017-01-02/college-football-how-every-conference-has-fared-years-bowl-games
