No gasoline! <r><E>:?:</E> Scott,<br/> No gasoline, it's just that every week we have had to hear about how every one hates UF and it reflects in the way the games are officiated. I (and others) have argued that the calls have always evened themselves out and UF has always gotten their fair share. Well for the last few weeks UF has gotten the lion's share of the high profile calls but all have been silent on that. No acknowledgement that maybe, just maybe everyone DOESN"T hate Florida. Maybe the calls have always gone both ways. I'm just wondering?[/quote]</r>
Corey wrote: Just because one person acts out does not mean that others have to reciprocate. I know that this is a completely different situation but the topic reminds me of a situation that I am fighting to end in the political world. I was asked to serve on the Emergency Services District #5 board. In my absence, I was nominated and elected to be the President of that board. The existing President had resigned after the adjournment of the last meeting. When he heard that I was filling his position on the board, he rescinded his resignation. He knew that I would not vote the same as he had and was afraid of the outcome of future votes. Since the resignation was not in the minutes, he was free to rescind. Now for the situation: The President (50 year old man) and the Treasurer (65 year old man) are diametrically opposed individuals. They can’t sit in the same room without lowering their actions to the level of 6 year olds fighting on the playground. Until both agree to grow up beyond that 6 year old mentality, the fighting will be perpetuated. I have learned a lot about moderating this board in the last month from moderating these two individuals on the ESD board. When individuals lower themselves, be the bigger man and refuse to reciprocate.
Advice taken Tom. Now I know who to avoid for sure. These guys knee jerk much too severely about my comments. On the UF ref situation vs. LSU I thought it was a pretty well called game and vs. Auburn the call at the end on the punt definitely went in UF's favor and I said so at the time. Until ND turns their plight around anything I say about the Irish will be taken in the worst possible way so I will try and use the utmost restraint when ND is the topic...or post.....which understandably is very frequent on this board. On the leg injury.....I wish you were right Jo'Co and I would not wish it on you in spite of your unbelievable attitude. Stu..not sure I get what you are saying. Did my comment seem to be an affront? I was just stating how I feel about Zook's chances to ever win an NC and yesterday vs. Iowa he validated that opinion. Oh....and once again Corey and Jo'Co you can't handle the truth. You want me to be an unrealistic Gator shill which unfortunately for you I am not. Even when it doesn't necessarily favor the Gators I call a spade a spade and ultimately that is what bothers you the most when I make a comment on your beloved Irish.
sweet jesus <r>Can't handle the truth?<br/> <br/> What the hell about this quote below indicates to you that I believe it would take anything less than an act of God (prior to this week)<br/> <QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> How is that unrealistic?<br/> <br/> Now that you've got Scott and Tom wanting to know why we're picking on you...You really are bubble boy.<br/> <br/> Douchebaggery abounds.<br/> <br/> And Tom, thanks for analogy. I get what you are saying. I do, and I respect your opinion. I was trying to (once again fruitlessly) keep a topic civil and football related. It doesn't work. I actually don't have a problem with this. But JOCO gets called out for taking a MILD yet well deserved swipe back at MCG?<br/> <br/> Fine, fine. moving on... he's running out of knees though</r>
What I was saying Corey is that anything I post that is a realistic assessment of Notre Dame immediately becomes "snarky" and is a slam against ND. With respect to ND's bowl projection before yesterday's game what could I have said with any realism that wouldn't have set you off? The topic was bowl projections and the post from you...not me....was on how ND could figure into that. Since I started the topic I responded but that was a mistake I can see now. Won't happen again. I'll leave it at that.
You guys need to listen to what Tom is saying. Problem is when you take shots at a school because you are annoyed at one poster it sometimes hits home with others from the same school who are not annoying you. Despite his pleas of innocence MCG has made a lot of posts the last year that really annoy people, including me. And if you guys have been paying any attention at all you would have noticed how many of his topics have been locked. Right now this one is under observation. However if I were to lock it now it wouldn't be because of MCG's comments. For instance JO'Co said JO'Co, if you think that Florida doesn't have traditions and we need to adopt Notre Dame's then you are not nearly as observant or knowledgeable as I've always felt you were. I'm a Gator, WZT is a Gator, Gaterz is a Gator and the owner of our board who has always treated us great even though it's not a money maker for him is a Gator. When you make garbage comments about Gators you are insulting us as well as MCG. Enough said from me, just all of you keep in mind what this forum is all about. Some of you need to read Tom's post above again. This post is from Gator Bill Gator fan and Gator Bill Moderator.
An Irish Skybox wake. Heartfelt prayers and genuine tears at the bereavement. Then, gunplay amongst the mourners in the parking lot. I think Andy is laughing watching everyone trying to move on.
LOL, some interesting perspectives!! MCG, didn't get to fish as early as hoped as our tree trimming duties carried us to a family friend's (elderly widow) home to assist. Anyway, finally got on the dock about 30 minutes into the outgoing tide with beer #3 in hand. After about 20-23 minutes of no action, I landed 4 smallish reds, 10-12" range, and two just above 20 inches ... all in about 5-10 minutes. Then, just as fast as it started, the action just dies. Interestingly, no hits on the gold spoon, all fish were caught on a new artificial bait - "Gulp". Hey, how about those UK Wildcats!! I think they will be giving 9-10 points next Saturday.
Sounds like great fun for a few minutes Gaterz. Interesting that the gulp was the deal. Back in CK in May that turned into my favorite bait as the trout and other species thought it was as good or better than shrimp. In CK the gulp is obviously a great alternative but here in Michigan I tried to use various forms/shapes of it but to no avail. Can you believe some these posts.......underwear is in a definite twist for some.
Bill, Tom, What you are saying is fine and I will drop it, but please if my two questions are the reason this thread is under supervision, then the standards have certainly been raised and hopefully will be applied evenly in the future. :!:
MCG...I think you lost me on the underwear reference. No, Dave...I was just saying that I took your post as a jocular shot back at me, not as an affront, and I was laughing "with you." Then when everyone got upset at the ND reference, I could kind of see why they felt that way (though I hadn't taken it that way), and I felt like I started the whole p@ssing match and I felt bad. Now it seems like I've offended you too, perhaps. I'm good, aren't I?
For the record <t>I am 'cool' with every single person on this board. There isn't a soul here I wouldn't drive an hour out of my way to meet and buy a beer for.. That includes Gonzo.<br/> <br/> I'm just amazed that Dave's getting the bubble boy treatment.<br/> <br/> I guess my 'Alabamians Against Florida' armband is wound a little too tight.</t>
Kp, everything is cool with you so don't get concerned, and I believe we have handled things with an even hand. The only thing that has happened is that we've locked some topics. I locked one today started by Gonzo, and one of Gonzo's the other day. Most of the others have concerned MCG in one way or the other, and that doesn't mean he was always the cause. To date we have taken no further action other than locking topics. However we are sincere in our intent that the flaming is going to reduce from the past. Corey, I'm not sure what you mean bubble boy treatment, if you mean me then I'm mystified. If you mean a couple of the other posters then perhaps you have forgotten MCG had a severe injury to his leg a couple of weeks ago and haven't been posting that much and some of had some concern as to how he has been. MCG, I have to agree you really didn't mean anything with your comments in this topic, but I liken it to the old story about the boy who called Wolf. If the comments here don't sink in as to how some people feel about some of the posts you have made in the past year I don't know what else to say. You have in fact taken a lot of shots at teams and people in the past. I hope you are sincere in turning that around.
KP, as a member that is mostly not in need of moderation, nothing was directed in your direction. Actually, my comments and analogy was a little much for this situation. I have two guys wanting to kill each other on the ESD board. Here, it is merely 5 or 6 that want to only disfigure each other. Big difference!
Bill, I do indeed wish to be taken in a lighter context than some want to take me. A lot of that does stem from the past but I have to say in my own defense that I have a very long memory as well and I am also as adept at slinging barbs back as any on this board so in the past some of my retorts have probably also strengthened a few Skybox memory banks. That kind of 12 year history is hard to overcome overnight but I am trying and I have exercised pretty good restraint considering the nature of comments I received from a couple of people in this topic.
you are <r><IMG src="http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w235/jennimeis/Abby.jpg"><s></e></IMG><br/> <br/> I could only aspire to show the class and restraint that you have to this point.</r>
MCG, if you are referring to this Forum when talking about your 12 year memory then my advice to you is to forget the 12 years and post as if they didn't happen. In fact that is my advice no matter where the 12 year memory comes from. Just take a look at this forum and the people here. They are great, Corey said it best when he said he would travel to meet anyone here. They are great people, all of us! Your posts have tended to be caustic and negative and that is what people remember when they see a topic from you. I well understand why JO'Co and Corey acted negative to your reference to Notre Dame and a bowl game this year, it's your history my friend. I hope you are really serious about changing your online persona, it would make my life much easier. But it's obvious that some people here have memories like you and hopefully they will recognize the new MCG. I hope they are still reading this also.
For the record once more <t>I actually didn't have a problem with MCG taking a swipe at the Irish, as few have stated here, I've come to expect it.<br/> <br/> Even his compliments over the years have proven to be back handed or end loaded setting up his position to waffle later..<br/> <br/> <br/> My contention here was the rush to defend him. (ergo the Bubble Boy treatment).<br/> <br/> What brought this on wasn't anything coordinated. I thought we were all talking about what we were looking for w/r/t our own team's bowl hopes.<br/> <br/> In my post I mentioned that it would nearly take an act of God for this to happen, yet he had to go and mention that its totally unlikely.. Well thanks for that... Adding anything new?? I think not. Just once again taking a shot at a down program...<br/> <br/> All of this, I have no problem with... but when JOCO posts something (finally and long overdue) taking MCG to task for some of his other positions, he gets the bubble boy defense because he's been on his best behavior lately...which somehow seems to coincide with a loss to Auburn at home that seemed to counter damn near every single contention he's made in the past year.<br/> <br/> I've got no problem with him at all, I just want to know why he gets a halo rule?<br/> <br/> There's a small group of us who have been lobbing scuds at each other for more than a decade. I'm comfortable with that..and speaking of the beloved and recently departed AJNJ, he could skewer someone under the rib cage with the best of them..If we have some unspoken no contact zone, then by all means just let me know. I just didn't get the memo.</t>
